I cannot say enough how much this helped me. It got me in track to read every day, meaningful references and background EVERY DAY. Great size, front, page weight, just fabulous. I recommend it to everyone. I never thought reading right through the old testament would keep my interest without having to take a break with the new treatment but it did. I will revisit this again in a few years and read through. Lovely lovely way to read through the bible.

A group I'm in is going through the Bible in a year and, though I have another Bible, I purchased this, in hopes that it would make it easier to actually get through all 66 books in a year. :)It does help! The breakdown is digestible, the commentary is easy to read and helpful without being over-the-top, and the passages for each day aren't too long at all - if you're not awesome at planning out how much to read, this may be helpful for you.I do wish there were an ESV version of this, but I've enjoyed the NIV a lot so far and if you're on the fence about ordering it, I would say go for it.To the readers:Wishing everyone out there a joyful Year in God's Word! I know the Bible (whichever version you buy) can be intimidating, but just give it a try - seek Him, be patient, and pray along the way. He loves you and wants a relationship with you - ask for guidance and persevere. You aren't here by accident. He can change you from just reading a verse - just imagine what could happen if you keep listening to Him in His Word!
