I bought this for my parents who hate to read texts. They hate the informalities of texts so I got them this printer which adds a bit of personalization to its messges through the use of their fun templates. My mother awaits her daily messages and loves them. My children have joined in the messages and my parents are thrilled with the ongoing messages as the kids can be anywhere and drop them a quick note, drawing, pictures, etc. The seller was awesome and sent the product quickly and it was as described . I will definitely buy more for Christmas gifts.

What a painful setup... But rewards are worth it.
I was anxious to get my hands on this piece of technology of somewhat old school telegram in new digital age.Loving it! Except the overpriced rolls, already on lookout for alternative at local staples once I run out of paper.Setup, it was horrific. Tried on two phones. There was an issue with phone being on LTE and WIFI simultaneously. Took a while to figure this issue out since the second phone had no LTE only wifi. Tried both WiFi access spots I run at home. 2.4G it is. Neither worked. Something told me to be on primary WiFiAP and turn off the data connection on the phone and that solved the pairing issue. Maybe I was lucky but the initial setup wasted about 3 to 4 yds of the paper roll with tons of same repeated setup process instructions. Then came the joy of this tremendous thing. Its constantly on for at least a month now and am loving it. Comes in handy and also great for filing.Only thing I wish it had was a ringtone settings and intensity as it isnt very loud. Watermark MEMOBIRD can be turned off in apps settings and you can share your memobird by url address which is accessible to shared one anytime, as always on, for 1 month, 1 week or 24 hours. Its very simple and intuitive, it accepts pictures and sends straight to your printer from the url server of the memobirds company. Clever as not everyone has to have app installed to send you telegrams, just share the url link and its done. As long as memobird keeps the server alive.UPDATE: Running for a few months now, no issues. So far, I've noticed that if you crop a picture in height, you can print 2 inches, 10 inches, possibly even 100 inches or indefinitely IF your picture gots so many pixels in portrait orientation.Only disappointment so far: I tried to apply a clear tape on the printed paper from the roll this printer came with, everything disappeard within 72 hours to a point you cant even tell there was any print on it before. I may try another brand of rolls and, or, clear tape to see if the results will be liable for a long time archiving, so far, giving up hopes on it.

Great idea, but serious reliability issues
I bought this to enable my entire extended family to send notes and pics to my grandma when they want since we can't see her as often due to COVID. She is not tech inclined, she has no smart phone or computer, so this was a great option, be it one-way. I set up a hotspot in her house and have the memobird set to use it's wifi. How they arrange the setup is a bit confusing, you create a user account, then tie the memobird to that user account, so instead of sending notes/pics to "Grandma's Memobird", everyone in the family actually sends everything to my account which forwards it to the printer. Little counter-intuitive. I'm not entirely sure how it should be, but honestly that's not the easiest way to use/explain to non-IT family members. Then comes the reliability, which is the main gripe, I deal with teaching folks. I've had to get my mom to bring the printer and hotspot back to me from her visits four times now, just since October. It randomly stops working and my grandma can't troubleshoot, nor can I remotely. I've noticed this weird recurring issue where I'll unplug it, plug it back in, it'll print one message, be it a note, pic, whatever. Then it sits and does absolutely nothing. I unplug it and plug it back in, it'll print exactly one more. This goes on and on until it's caught up. After Thanksgiving when we discovered it hadn't been working I did this for a solid hour getting all the pics out. I've tried just letting it sit when it gets like that, but no, you have to unplug and plug and it'll immediately print the next queued item. But just one.The app gives you a verification that you sent your note to the printer, but it's not a true "hey, this physically printed out" thing, I'm not sure where the disconnect is, but you'll get that notice every time, whether it actually prints or not. It's going in a drawer after this last round of quitting, it's become too much of a pain and nobody sends anything anymore because you can't rely on it.So, in a nutshell; great idea, it works well when it decides to work, but the reliability is just not there at all, and when you have a person on the other end who isn't tech savvy (the entire demographic for the device, why else would you need it?), it quickly becomes more work than it's worth.

Works.
It can be tricky to get it going, but once you do it's fun and great for making check lists. Only works on 2.4 networks.
