Proceed with caution. ** And an update 22 June 2019...
Be VERY careful with use of this product! My wife had taken our little rescued cat (4 years old) off of a name brand probiotic and decided to use this instead, hoping all 4 of our cats would like this probiotic. She started with the 4 year old who evidently has a bit of trouble processing various foods. We used this as directed, starting with a little under the half of the scoop they provide. It’s a tiny scoop and a little goes a long way as it’s a very fine powder. We had been using it for about a week, maybe a couple of days longer, when the little girl suddenly became lethargic, laying under the coffee table (hiding) and she also stopped drinking her water. We have metal water fountains in various locations around the house and she’s good about drinking water each day so it was alarming to see her stop. This seemed to start in the very early hours of the morning on a Saturday and by 11a we had her at our vets. She couldn’t figure out what was wrong, no fever, no vomiting, etc so she said to bring her home, keep an eye on her and return Monday morning if she hadn’t improved.Early afternoon on Sunday we had her at the emergency hospital for animals because she had become completely listless and laid down next to one of the fountains but wouldn’t drink the water. $1,078.00 later they figured out she was apparently suffering from gastroenteritis based on the air pockets they found in her intestines with the x-rays. When they questioned us about her diet the only thing we could figure out that had been different was the addition of this probiotic. Her diet hadn’t changed at all. Her chicken and rice in broth in the morning, a bit of kibble in the afternoon and her skipjack at night. Same thing she’s been eating for at least the past 2 years. The ONLY thing that had changed was this probiotic. Could be coincidence except...I/we don’t believe in coincidence. The vet said this could’ve been the source of the problem since it’s the only different thing in her diet. She also said it’s probably best to go with a name brand probiotic because they (the manufacturer, a large cat food company) are large enough to have the funding to do the research. Plus, they’ve been around for a long time.I don’t know...it’s SO hard being a pet parent, as you all know. They can’t tell us what’s wrong and we try to do our best for them working within the limitations of our financial status. If we had a boatload of money then I think we could take better care of our 4 legged kids because we could buy the very, very best food. We use Wellness and Applaws and they’re not cheap by any means and they’re both excellent brands of canned food. Then, you get the arguments about a raw food diet but that’s not practical for us financially plus the arguments against the listeria, etc found in raw foods make us suspect of that plan as well.At any rate, proceed with extreme caution using this product. Perhaps our littlest girl has an ultra-sensitive stomach. The other 3 didn’t like it and wouldn’t touch their food with this in it so there’s probably not a probiotic out there that really is scentless, tasteless. This was the 5th one that we’ve tried for them. There was only one that they all liked, the one that’s 2 vets recommended but that has “animal digest” in it and neither my wife nor I like the description of that even a little bit.Last, but not least, if there’s any way you can work it into your budget, get pet insurance! Ya gotta have it. It can be a bit of an expense and you may need to make changes in your lives to pay for the insurance. We will, definitely, but since we don’t have an extravagant lifestyle and we live on a fixed income now this is going to be interesting coming up with the money to pay for 4 cats ranging in age from 4 to 10. We need to do something about the healthcare system in this country not only for humans but for our non-human family members too. It’s a disgrace that an animal that COULD be helped, be saved runs the very real risk of being euthanized because the pet parent/guardian couldn’t afford the care needed. A damn disgrace.********************************************Update...if you need to return this for the appropriate credit be aware that the seller doesn't participate in Amazon's very easy refund process where you get the return code, take product to UPS, they scan the code and box it up, tape it, etc and return to Amazon. Your refund is done that day and you see it in your account within 3-5 business days.I called Amazon to make sure that it was a seller policy, not theirs, and they confirmed that the money I had to pay to return this was indeed the seller's policy, not theirs. Therefore, not only did we spend over $1000.00 after we used this product on our cat's food but, to add insult to injury, we then had to pay to return it!VERY bad customer service in action.Would not buy anything from this seller again if they were the only sellers on the entire planet.

Outstanding Feline Probiotic.
Look no more, this is a superior probiotic for your cat. Stops diarrhea, odor, color and texture. You should be getting regularly tootsie roll looking BMs. This probiotic does not have any color or taste. There’s no fighting to get this awesome medication on-broad. You should see improvement in just a few days/week, depending on your cat and type of disease. This NOT a cure all, but sure seems like one.I’ve used this wonderful product for all my Abys at any age. Has worked wonders on my order (17+) Abyssinians. Also bringing in a Aby older rescue with a food changes. Please make sure to REFRIGERATE!!I can’t say enough great things about Doggone Best Product!Make sure to order extra, as sometimes it’s on back order. Thanks for listening about a great product for your precious felines!

Don't waste your money on any other product - this is the one.
My 9 yr. old cat had never had diarrhea, not even once, until I took him to the vet for a dental cleaning. They gave him an intra-op dose of an antibiotic IV. Said he would not need anymore after I took him home. Next day horrendous yellow, baby diarrhea several times and outside of litterbox. It continued and continued. Good thing was he kept eating and was drinking profusely to keep hydrated. The last thing I wanted to do was to take him to vet because I knew they would give him Flagyl - not a fan with previous cat experience. So I tried Forti-flora, pumpkin, chicken and rice, goat's milk and nothing helped. Finally took him to vet and guess what - they prescribed a week of Flagyl and a probiotic I hadn't tried. OK, so now I have vomiting on top of diarrhea and he stopped eating. Just as I thought - vet's suggestion made the problem worse. So, in desperation, I once again looked on internet for help and found this product. I wasn't very hopeful but he did resume eating after I stopped Flagyl. I added this to his wet food in morning and by a day and a half I saw semi-formed stool. Ecstatic......2 days later normal poops. I am still giving it to him since his gut biome is probably still lacking. May not ever stop this, it is so easy to mix in with wet food really well and Mr. Fussy doesn't notice it is there. This is the one......Thank you for all your reviews that led me here.

Thrilled
Our elderly cat was having trouble with diarrhea, her appetite was non existent, her belly hurt (we assumed this as she was crying constantly). We were at a loss as to what to do.. In researching something for the diarrhea, we came upon this product , read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Lo and behold after just a couple of days of use, the diarrhea stopped, the appetite returned, she gained some weight, she stopped crying, she started playing again. In short she is her old self again. The product is tasteless too, we simply mixed it in with her food and she gobbled it up with no problems. Not bad for a notoriously finicky cat. We are thrilled with the results

EXCELLENT PRODUCT AND EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE
Customer service is EXCELLENT!!!!! I decided to try the Advanced Probiotic for my two cats after FortiFlora prices skyrocketed. FortiFlora price increase set me over the edge so with a little trepidation (after all I knew Purina products, but not Doggone Best products) I decided to give Advanced Probiotic a try. Did I really want to spend the higher amount on ForiFlora which is only a 30 day supply of packets for $28.50 or the jar of Advanced Probiotic jar for $20.69 with 8 ounces of power which will last much longer than ForteFlora's 30 day supply and accomplishes the same results in my two cats. So I gave it a try. My two cats don't seem to notice I switched, but my pocket does. And one more thing, Their help support people are WONDERFUL. I was a bit confused about the packaging (could not find the spoon which had sunk down into the power). I emailed them and received two emails from their support person. Very courteous and extremely helpful. What a great company, and NO I am NOT being paid for this positive post :>) Patricia
