Not for 1st time laptop owners
As you may have guessed from the headline I recently purchased my first laptop computer. Don’t get me wrong, I have a degree in office administration so I’m familiar with using computers and I’ve owned a tablet for several years. Recently I discovered the Word Program on my desktop computer wasn’t working and since the program was Windows 7 it’s time to buy a new computer. Since I didn’t want to buy a new tower (too expensive) I decided to buy a laptop computer.I purchased Laptops for Seniors in easy steps thinking it was an introductory book for new laptop computer owners; I was mistaken. Don’t get me wrong, the book is well written with easy instructions BUT when I began reading and read “right-click on the Start button to view the Power User menu” and there were no directions on HOW to right-click using a laptop computer I realized this book was not for laptop user beginners.I’ve ordered another book, Laptops for Dummies, which will hopefully be the introductory book I need but will keep Laptops for Seniors in easy steps to read AFTER I learn the basics.

Not for the seniors as I know them
I bought this to help my wife with a laptop. Like many seniors she is less mobile and relies an emails to maintain contact with friends. The book had just TWO PAGES about emailing. No full-screen image to show where symbols to click-on are located. Blurry small images of sections of screen, hard to read.No list of visual symbols showing what each is for. A lot of jargon, which unless you already had a LOT of computer experience you would never understand.
