George Carlson: The American West

As a fan of Western Art, I can't believe I have never seen this man's work before. Inspiring.

Carlson is a master and this book has tons of images of his work going back to the 1960's. I found it very inspriational. Wanted to get it before it goes out of print (as so many books like this do for some strange reason).

I am an artist, and have followed George Carlson for many years. When I heard that there was a book, I bought it immediately. It really filled every hope that i had, and will be a valuable resource for many years of my career.

George Carlson's paintings are striking for their gritty, palpable texture and their elegant sense of design. The reproductions in this book are skillfully photographed to highlight that three-dimensional paint texture. Carlson's sculptures are equally deft, and also nicely displayed here.

This is a well compiled ode to the work of a master...in several genres. Savor it like "slow food."
