Alaska Smokehouse 16 oz Natural Smoked Salmon 2 Pack

Very disappointed by the misinformation in this item description. Box had a single 16oz pack, so the advertised amount and cost of the product were false in the description.

I purchased this brand years ago and like it so I made recent purchase of this item. The description says "Alaska Smokehouse Naturally Wild Smoked Salmon in Gift Box, 16-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 2)" The word 'boxes' in incorrect since only one box was sent. Also below it lists 32oz when the total is 16. Don't be another buyer taken in by the false description.

I couldn't believe, this product was described "Smoked Salmon" with Liquid in the package.I will admit, cost was low. You get what you DON'T pay for. I ended up making Dip with 2 lbs. No good for anything else.I am sad I gifted a package to my son and daughter n law. They were too nice to tell me what they received. So I ordered some myself. I was embarrassed to have sent it as a gift.Buyer Beware. Pay the extra money to actually get "Smoked Salmon".

I only received one box of the 16oz size and the description said there was supposed to be two.

The color & flavor of this salmon was terrible. Not pink at all, it was an anemic looking fish, beige in color and the smell was like a can of cat food. The taste was worse than eating an un-drained can of tuna fish and I like tuna fish. Can’t believe I wasted the money on this.

First, this is hot-smoked salmon in a sealed pouch - essentially it has undergone a canning process. It will not taste like fresh hot-smoked salmon, and especially not like cold-smoked salmon. The texture is drier, but in my experience the flavor is usually excellent. If you are expecting this or any other "pouch" salmon to be the same as refrigerated smoked salmon in flavor or texture, you'll be disappointed.Second, in the many times I've ordered this product, I've always received 2 one-pound pouches, each in its own box - exactly what I expected.Finally, the quality is variable. In the dozen+ pouches we've ordered over a few years, a few have not had the greatest flavor, and the meat was brown rather than pink/orange/red. In all cases it was still edible, and we still enjoyed it.This product is almost always the least expensive option in smoked salmon, about half the price per ounce of others. Even if I subtract the few less-than-stellar pouches from the quantity we've bought, this is still the most cost-effective way we've found to buy smoked salmon.

This Salmon was OK. It doesn't have that fresh smoky flavor I was looking for. It is packed in water, so it doesn't have great texture either. There isn't anything wrong with it. It is just packaged fish.I was looking for that fresh smoked fish we used to buy at the pier. It is a lot to asked from packaged fish, but living in the middle of the desert, I don't have that option.

Add says two boxes. I received one box, one fillet. Contacted Amazon and got a full refund. When I ordered before I got two separately boxed fillets, as advertised. This is really the most delicious smoked salmon. Ready to eat right out of the package.
