Our Friend Hedgehog: The Story of Us

This is a cute and uplifting story of creatures who become friends through teamwork. Structured as an origin story of friendship, the book is adventure of friends who are separated and lose something important. The illustrations are rich in charm and color and the message is inclusive and kind, and celebrates teamwork and building a positive community.

This is a wonderful children's book, well written and illustrated. When we finished it the first time, my 4-year-old granddaughter sighed and said, "Read it again, Grampy!" The book is about a tiny hedgehog that goes missing and one by one, all of its friends join to hunt for it. It was charming. The illustrations are adorable.

My 8 year old son said to give this 5 stars. We both really enjoyed this heartfelt wholesome story.

Good early chapter book for kids too advanced for picture books. A nice, little adventure story. 110 pages in 9 chapters. Easy reading, with still lots of illustrations on each page. A good book to challenge a young reader. Caldecott Honor Winner.
