Nice and lightweight mattress, I got this to use with the baby elegance travel cot from Smyth’s Toys, it fits perfectly and the baby is nice and comfortable and a really good price too!

We bought this mattress because our travel cot mattress had only a basic cardboard style mattress that our son was starting to find un comfortable.We boughtthis based on the reviews.We did unfortunately find ours stunk to hi heavens of chemicals, it took two weeks to fully degass, but now it doesn't smell and is great for the job that it does.So, those of you who have bought ones that smell, this is normal, however the potency may not be, this is likely a fault during the manufacturing process but does not indicate an inferior product.You just have to air it out for longer to degass it.So what causes it to smell? The sponges are treated with chemicals to make them fire retardent and other things, as a bi product of this process, the chemicals give off non volatile compounds as they bed in These are not dangerous, but the smell can cause headaches if over powering as was the case for us. So, strip the mattress down to the sponge lay it out in the sun ☀ (heat excites the compounds causing them to gass quicker). And just check it's progress. We had ours out fully for about 3 days, but due to weather it was out of its case for about a week. All in all a great product.

Obviously any mattress is going to be bulky for travelling with, however my friend used this for a one year old little boy inside a big brand travel cor and it fit perfectly and he had a really good nights sleep even in a strange house.
