easy
The cupcakes are very easy to make - add 2 eggs, water and oil and mix well. They included cupcake liners and frosting and unicorn sprinkles. It was fun to make with my son, and we liked it. The ingredients are not the best, but they were free of his multiple allergens, so we do not have much other choice for him short of making it from scratchYou get five boxes with the full kits

Moist and delicious but not enough frosting
I've always liked Betty Crocker cake mixes. You pretty much can't go wrong so I thought this kit would be great as well and it's nice to get a couple at a time. I was super bummed to see that the whole box of mixes expired in less than 3 months. I like cupcakes and all but I highly doubt I will get through 5 boxes in 3 months. I think definitely if you're buying in bulk, the expiration should definitely be more than 3 months away. As far as price, these were about $3.50 a box at the time of this review. I can't find them anywhere locally to compare but that definitely seems high for this type of kit so I'm not sure what the benefit to this bulk order would be other than the convenience of Amazon delivery or if you really needed this exact kit.Another thing to point out is that this kit makes about half as many cupcakes as a regular box of cake mix. You could probably buy a cake mix and frosting for the same price as this and make twice as many cupcakes. I ended up combining 2 boxes when I made this. Actually making the cupcakes is very easy and straightforward. It says it makes 12 and I only got about 22 out of 2 boxes but I also probably overfilled the cups. It does come with extra cups in case you go over the 12. I was actually very pleasantly surprised to see that the cups were actually included so this really is an all inclusive kit. When I went to frost them I was a bit bummed by the amount of frosting. When I get a Betty Crocker box mix with frosting and make cupcakes I always end up with extra frosting left over even after loading it on to the cupcakes. I felt like I had to frost these extremely thinly to be able to get frosting on all the cupcakes and keep in mind I had one less cupcake per box already. I think even if the frosting in this kit was doubled it would still be less than the ratio you get if you buy stuff separately. They still taste good with that amount of frosting though and I don't need more for my young kiddos. The sprinkles are pretty but are way too much. I used just one of the packets and was able to put more than enough sprinkles on almost all of both batches. I just wish Betty Crocker could get the ratios on these types of kits worked out better.Overall I do like these cupcakes. They are definitely delicious and my kids were thrilled. Given the price, portion size, and expiration date of this bulk order though I definitely will not be ordering again.

Needs more icing - why so expensive?
So the cupcakes were good. I used coldstone creamer instead of water for added vanilla flavor which is a little trick I use when making homemade cupcakes. They gave plenty of sprinkles and we had some leftover. They could have given more frosting as there was only enough for 10 and i didn't frost them heavy. They tasted good, the cupcakes was moist and the kids really liked eating them and putting the sprinkles on. Frosting was ok..very sweet as expected. It tasted like typical pre-made vanilla frosting.I liked that everything came in the box from the mix, cupcake liners, and sprinkles. You only needed the refrigerated ingredients that couldn’t be put in the box.The one thing I’m confused about is the price of this listing as of 6/6. Why $27 for 5 boxes of cupcake mix? That’s like $5.4 a box when these are typically significantly cheaper in the store.

Sugary goodness!
This is about exactly what you'd expect. It tastes like the box - sugary sweet and colorful. It's actually quite good; a nice sweet vanilla cupcake. Easy to mix and bakes up in like 20 minutes. I took the sprinkles and actually mixed them into the batter to make it fun. That worked fine - it makes it more birthday-cake-like. The frosting is good - I do wish that bag was re-sealable because if you don't use it all it's a bit tough to save and store well. But it is tasty. I mean your kids are already high on sugar with all the crap you give them so why not top it off with this???

Fun Vanilla Character Cupcake Mix
This pack of 5 cupcake mixes is great! Each box contains nearly everything you need to make a dozen cupcakes: dry ingredients, pouch of frosting, cupcake liners, and sprinkles. You will need to provide oil, water, and eggs. I followed the directions and the cupcakes baked up perfectly. They were very tasty and super cute. The only negative I can think of is that I personally would like to have more frosting. The small pouch did frost a dozen cupcakes, but with a very small amount on each one.
