JXE JXO Chopping Axe Camping Hatchet, Great for Axe Throwing, Camping, Survival, Outdoors and Chopping

I have no idea what kind of pot steel this is but no way it’s “1055 carbon steel.” First off, the weight….the head is nowhere near heavy enough for the steel the say it’s made out of. Second giveaway is that the metal is too soft and can’t hold an edge for more that 2 or 3 strikes. I’ve re-honed the edge, taken to the pebble and stone several times and after 3 strikes, the edge is gone. This thing can barely stick into a chopping stump with a direct strike, no way it’s sticking into anything if it’s thrown.I decided to give this hawk a chance because it was small and most of the reviews that have complaints were about handle breakage. If you’ve been throwing hawks for a while, you know handle breakage is a fairly common occurrence so I was willing to let the handle durability issue slide if the head was worth anything but sad to say the handle is probably the best part about this hawk.This thing is not good for throwing, it’s not good for chopping, it can maybe be used as a hammer but that’s about it. Save your money and buy a frontier hawk or a rifleman’s hawk instead.

Sent FIRST one back due to AXE HEAD being WARPED, Then sent SECOND one back due to receiving it with a CRACKED HANDLE !!! NO Quality Control...Probably made in some wrecking yard in a THIRD World country......If you know NOTHING about a Hatchet get this one and you'll find out what NOT to get next time...

Excellent head , chops and throws well , put a new handle on ASAP

The blade is bent and the eye's wall is thin on one side.

Throwing at target and camping

Handle is horrible. Head is great. 10 bucks gets you a nice handle and with a little sanding you are ready to go.

Definitely not a hickory handle. But for $20 what can you expect.

Head was wrapped on opening

Some of the weld could of been cleaned off.Haven’t got a chance to throw it to see how it flies.
