Swim training fins have many useful benefits, including use in physical rehabilitation, aqua aerobics, fitness swimming and competitive training. Using a smaller training fin provides added resistance without overloading the muscles joints, ligaments and tendons used in water exercise. Many fitness and competitive swimmers use long scuba/snorkel fins as a training aid. Because the center of effort in a long fin is forward of the foot, the excessive blade area and displaced center of effort may cause early fatigue or cramping, and encourage a "pedaling" motion different than that used in a flutter kick. The concept of the short training fin was conceived to bring the center of effort back to the foot, increase leg strength, and allow a swimmer to train with a kicking motion that is the same as the flutter kick without a fin.Feature:-Soft food pocket-Highly Reactive and Lightweight Blade Material-Short blade to help develop stronger, faster kick-Available in five different sizes- Comes with a quick-drying mesh bag for conveniently stored and carried out Notice:If you are not sure which size fits your foot, please measure your foot length based on the size we supplied as the last picture show.Warm Tip:After each dive, fins should be cleaned with some warm water and dry them, avoid direct sunlight as the UV rays can cause the material to become brittle and crack.

Revised Review
I originally gave these fins a single star because they failed quickly. Customer service contacted me quickly and replaced the fins. They were polite and respectful and offered suggestions on how to prevent fin failure in the future. I have been using the replacement fins rigorously on a daily basis with no further problem. I can only conclude that the first pair that failed was the exception, not the rule, and I can only praise the customer service I received.

Not for lap swimming
Nicely made fins, HOWEVER they are designed for ocean swimming it seems. Hard plastic instead of soft silicone. So, if you are a lap swimmer find something else. I should have examined the description more.

Short is the way to go
So comfortable. Bought a size down. I wear a 9 woman shoe size and purchased SMALL size fins for perfect fit.

True to size, comfy!
I bought these for snorkeling around the gulf coast. These ARE short fins, but they are ideal for trips to beach and the casual snorkeling. They are a great size to hook on a clip and go with...NOT super long and cumbersome. I'm a strong swimmer, so I didn't necessarily need sustained propulsion as opposed to some extra power going down and coming up. They are also easy to get on and off, and short enough to walk in without the awkward duck walk. The bulk of the fin starting at the ball of your feet also lessens the cramping and thigh strain. Great buy for the price!

Fins really help with my kicks
I am new to swimming and during my class at the Y my instructor suggested everyone who swims could benefit from a good pair of fins for their swim bag. I a bit of research and settled on these based on other reviews. I love them. They are not too short and not too long...just right and now when I kick I see a good return on my efforts. I would recommend.

Great travel fins
I ordered these last minute for a 10 day Caribbean cruise. I put them in my checked bag on the way there and carry on the flight home. They don't take up a lot of space, and aren't heavy.I like that they just slip on, no booties needed, no adjusting straps. I wear a 7 normally in shoes (I used to be able to squeeze into some 6.5) so I did size down and they fit great. We even had to swim against current in Bonaire, and I was able to do that without getting winded. If you are just doing a few snorkel stops on a cruise, I recommend these. If you are somewhere for a longer stay and want to dive or snorkel every day, maybe go with the normal size fins.

Broke after 5 month
Update: Broke along seems after 5 months of swimming one hour a week in indoor pool. These swim fins work much better than the medium size fins they are replacing. There was a noticeable increase in my swimming speed. especially in my free style and backstroke, The foot compartment is very soft and comfortable with no annoying straps or hot spots.I wear a shoe size varying from 10 to 10 1/2 men's (US), the large size fins were oversized for me, although I was still able to use them. No problem getting them on and off.

Sizing very large!
These are ok. I own several pairs of fins including a monofin which is my very favorite. I did not own short fins so I decided to try these. I have a ladies size 10 shoe, these are way too big! I have to wear neoprene booties to keep them on. They don’t do much to add to my swim workout. I swim in the ocean, sometimes it can be quite rough with the waves due to boat traffic avd the weather. I prefer my mermaid linden monofin by body glove or my Head black rubber full diving fins for swimming. These are ok for a change and an added bonus is that you can actually walk in them! I am a strong swimmer; I think these would be better suited if you are a beginner swimmer or don’t swim very much. They are a nice hot pink color. But I was surprised how large they are for my feet.
