Q: Is this just one spool in a packet or does it come with two spools as shown in the photo? If so how long is each spool?

Two spools come with each packet. They are 100 foot spools.

Yes, this magic thread will easily secure roe to a treble hook. I have done it many, many times and caught many, many salmon!!!

Q: Is this elastic or just regular thread?

It is a regular thread. I was looking for something to hold liver on decided on Elastic net size 1. I bought a box of 25 yards. made 1 1/2 strips with one end tied off. Stuffed the liver in it and from the top ran my hook through three sides, twisted it and ran it up the hood shaft and then put the hook into and out of the liver. Throw is as hard as you can and it won't come off.
