I've had a Porter Cable nailer, finishing nailer, and now this impact driver. It is EXCELLENT. Probably my favorite tool. Batteries last and charge quickly. Yesterday I mounted a snowplow to my ATV. The belly mount plate was heavy duty 3/16" steel plate, and this driver bent the plate when I cinched the bolts up to the frame. My Ryobi 1/2" impact wrench can't do that. (it's junk) This little driver has become my go-to tool. I love it.

2nd one I've had. This one doesn't have the battery checker like my last one. I have two porter cable 1/2" drills to check the batteries with. Last one was still working well after 7 years on a work truck. Someone stole it off my truck is the only reason I needed another one. With a pre-drilled pilot hole it will drive a 3/8" or 1/2" by 4" lag bolt into a green telephone pole. Please note: the battery life will be short with that big of lag screw.

Love my VSR drill and this compliments it with SAME battery pack too!!

Good tool for home renovation

I have many Poter Cable tools and o like them. I bought most of the at loew's however they don't carry that brand anymore and I do not want to buy all new tools. Therefore, Amazon has the tools, so I ordered the drill.

I purchased this for my husband back in February of 2023 its now September 2023 and the drill does not work. The customer service for Porter cable is just as useless because the closest factory centre in Mississauga NEVER answers the phone. its been nothing but nightmare to speak with someone who can actually help and get something done. 7 months of a nearly $200 drill to stop working is absurd with no help in sight. If you are thinking of buying this drill I would strongly caution you because in the event that it breaks and its within warrantee you'll never receive a response or help that actually helps. Instead you will receive an email of a list of factory centres to call in your closest area. Think twice! I have been running around for nearly a week before I decided to come here to leave a review. I dont like leaving bad reviews but this is absolutely the worst service received from porter cable.
