I purchased two of these as a gift for my niece. I purchased 2 because they can be used a stereo set. I've taken a while to review them because I had not seen or heard them in person, but a few days ago I bought 2 for myself (I like bluetooth speakers the way some people like shoes!) The features list is short, this is a bluetooth speaker, it charges via USB C, it has one upward firing driver and a downward facing passive radiator, it does not use an app for any of its functions. On the speaker itself are a power button, a bluetooth pairing button (which also serves and the stereo pairing button), a play/pause button and volume up and down buttons. this is a purely bluetooth speaker it does not have an auxilary input. Sony has done a great job designing this speaker, it doesn't distort at full volume and gets louder than it seems at first, there is the impression of a bit of base, but it's a pretty small speaker with a pretty small driver so it can only move so much air, that being said, it's a fascinating little device, when it's working and you pick it up you can really feel it thump and bump, voices and musical instruments sound clear and reasonably full. honestly, these have a full and engaging sound that will make you want to get up and dance (if you're so inclined) or sing along with your favorite artist, when 2 are paired together the sound only gets better, they play as a stereo pair, one plays the left channel the other plays the right. They are so easy to use that I only skimmed the instructions to make sure I wasn't missing anything. There is no indication which speaker is the which channel, however, it seems that when in stereo pair mode the speaker with the blue bluetooth light is the left channel. Small speakers by their nature will not rock as loud or as hard as larger speakers, but the best small speakers are true to the spirit of the music, and these little guys are true to the music.

Good evening,As a long time JBL user (I have the JBL Clip 3 and JBL 650BTNC wireless over-the-ear headphones), I decided to get this Sony Bluetooth speaker because:1. I wanted to try something different.2. It was cheaper than than the Clip 4 at the time I was looking for a new speaker.3. Sony has better quality in sounds and audio devices.Review after having it for two weeks:It definitely is better in terms of higher pitches. The sound quality is clearer and I haven't needed to charge it yet after two weeks (uses it about every day or other day for 3 hours on average). The build is not the rugged type like my JBL Clip 3, so I bought a silicone cover ($12). I like to have that extra protection just in case. The shape of the device is not bad, I like that it can stand on its own and I can hang it because of the strap. I like the removeable strap, and how it comes with the same color as the speaker. It is a little wider than a regular plastic bottle so, if you have a water bottle pocket on your backpack it fits there perfectly, or simply use the strap. Overall, a great speaker and worth your money.

This speaker came in a plastic bag without instructions or protective packaging so I'm not sure if it was new or a refurb item. In any case, it works looks and works great for my purpose.Controls and connector (USB C) are intuitive so it was simple to charge the battery with an on-hand USB C cable and charger. Setup and blue tooth pairing were simple. Sound is excellent although monaural.Not sure about the battery life. Haven't recharged the battery yet.

What I like about this speaker: portability, the color (mint green), fits in my cupholder in the car, easily connects to my phone bluetooth, compact, can either adjust volume on speaker or on my phone, long battery life, comes with a strap which is great for hanging it under your beach umbrella.What I dislike about this speaker: sometimes it is hard to turn off by pushing the button on the speaker itself, there is no way to adjust the bass or treble so the sound is sort of brassy and the sound isn't really all that great but it could just be b/c I'm using it in my 20year old car which has the original stereo system with tape deck and CD player am/fm radio.I wanted the larger version b/c my teens all have one and the sound is on point for a $100 speaker, but this smaller one was on sale at the time for the price I wanted to pay.If you are looking for a reliable portable speaker to use in your car which may not have Aux capabilities or to use when you're at the beach or on vacay - I definitely recommend this speaker especially if you're on a budget.

I love this little speaker and it’s has a great sound and great quality. I wish they had a light purple lavender color but the light blue / teal color is pretty too. Easy to set up and connect to blue tooth on my kindle, laptop or iphone.I bought the 3 year extended warranty just in case, but so far it works great and good sound. Used it outside in the patio when I was gardening & was still pretty loud. I live near a lot of traffic and it’s loud outside & this little speaker was clear & good sound.

Sony has awesome sound and for a small speaker it has decent bass. I think it could be a little louder though. Some direct competitors are louder. The strap on this speaker isn't reliable, they should have incorporated a more secure clipping mechanism that can't accidentally come undone. Overall, good quality mini bluetooth speaker for more quiet environments. It will not overpower waves at a beach or heavy outdoor noises. More of an indoors speaker if I can be honest. Think bathroom, taking a shower, or dorm room.

First off, I really don’t write reviews anymore because I don’t have the time, but I have got to write one for this little speaker. I bought this to take to the beach and clip to my chair. It’s the Perfect size. It charges quickly and is very durable. I sat it on the balcony of our beach house and on 2 separate occasions it was knocked off. Even after hitting the ground on the driveway it continues to work perfectly! I love this little speaker and would give it 10 stars if I could. I highly recommend!
