I have been using these now for more than a year, since (and beyond) my first pregnancy. It's hard to find a good vegan DHA supplement from a reputable company and it seems like this one is just that.They're not too big (and I had a hard time swallowing pills as I had bad morning sickness until about week 22 of my pregnancy) and don't seem to have much of a smell/flavor which is nice.They changed their packaging recently and I had some concerns about the appearance of the pills which I saw in a couple reviews some people were concerned was mold. I emailed them and their customer service was very responsive and detailed. For the record, the oil used in the supplements can be a little cloudy, but it's not mold. I guess if you put them in very warm water, it will turn completely clear and mold wouldn't do that, it would just remain solid. I'm planning to continue buying and taking these to supplement my diet since I'm a vegetarian, pregnant or not.

I am currently 25 weeks pregnant and I was searching around for a safe prenatal DHA. When I say safe I mean a prenatal DHA that does not contain mercury. My concern with Fish prenatal DHA was the mercury content.I love that Diet Standards Prenatal DHA offers an alternative form of DHA and EPA through Algae Oil, which means I do not have to worry about exposing my baby to Mercury while I am pregnant. I also love the fact that this product is vegan and Free of Gluten, animal products, Egg, Dairy, nuts, soy, yeast, starch, sugar. It truly gives me piece of mind to know what I am putting in my body and what I am delivering to my baby. I also appreciate that this product is a small and very easy to swallow, and contains no after taste.I feel it is a great product not just for those whom are pregnant, and / or vegan, but also those whom are looking for a safe alternative to fish sourced DHA and EPA omega 3's. This product can be for everyone to take as it is vegan, small and easy to swallow, and FREE of unnecessary bi-products and fillers. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT so far and would highly recommend it to others.

The online description of this product is misleading. I was specifically looking for a convenient way to take 1000 milligram DHA, which the description implied. However, when my product arrived, it couldn't have been further from the truth. It actually only has 450 milligrams DHA, and in order to get this 450 milligrams, I have to take 3 capsules! These capsules are huge! Therefore I would not recommend this product for anyone who wants a convenient way to take this particular fatty acid.The description on the website had nothing to say about the other ingredients in the product either, EPA and which are other fatty acids. Furthermore the actual bottle's description said 1800 milligrams per serving size (which is 3 capsules of course), comprising of 450mg DHA, 225mg EPA, + 975mg ALA. Correct me if I'm wrong, but by my math, those add to 1650, right? Disappointed that I have to take so many, but I wanted something that was vegan, and now given all the discrepancies, I'm hoping that it's actually vegan!

Overall, I am very pleased with this product. As mentioned, there are no unpleasant aftertaste or burps. Feels very pure and clean to take.Upon taking them regularly, I noticed a difference in my memory recall and thus realized the importance of supplementing DHA, especially for those who are concerned about proper brain health and longevity.The prenatal vitamins are for myself (preparing to get pregnant).I also order these vitamins for both my mother and mother-in-law for overall health.I would also like to get my partner (male) to start taking them, seeing as we are moving towards a primarily plant-based diet and have heard that it is not detrimental to supplement DHA, even with a balanced diet. It is something we take seriously.I was attracted to these pills because they are vegan, and 3rd party tested.Also, I closely studied the ingredients list on several different vegan DHA pills on Amazonand found that they had extra oils and other ingredients that I did not want to take.Thus, I appreciate that this DHA supplement has no added oils and a short ingredients list.

This is a high-quality product. I am not pregnant, but I am vegan and this DHA supplement is one of the few that is algal oil-based, does not have a gelatin capsule, and provides a fair amount of DHA (as well as some EPA) in each capsule. I take the supplement for general health reasons because my diet does not include DHA sources like fatty-fish.So far, I am pleased with the supplement and likely will purchase this product again. The packaging is nice, the 180 capsules per bottle will last awhile (I take only one per day, so this is about a six-month supply and is, therefore, very cost-efficient on a price per dose basis), and there are no superfluous artificial ingredients. I would recommend this to others, vegan or not.
