Bemis5000ZAR000 Chicago Toilet Seat, White

I like my toilet seat very much. It's solid plastic, and solid enough without being too heavy or flimsy. It's able to be adjusted forward or back, and I was able to adjust its position so it was further forward than my previous seat. So the top rested securely against the back and there are less "skid marks". The plastic covers over the two securing bolts make it more attractive, although it was a minor challenge to find out how they "uncover". (Use a thin screwdriver carefully to search for the join opposite the "hinge".)

I bought this Bemis 5000ZAR000 Chicago to replace a six-year-old 5000AR Chicago (B003JN8FCU), which gave good service until the hinges got brittle and snapped. So far so good; seems like great value.Important note: Although the Amazon listing says this is a "newer version" of the 5000AR, this product does not come with fixings suitable for an enclosed pan, unlike the 5000AR (with this new product, you need access to the underside of the pan). So I had to re-use the hardware from the previous seat, which seems to be fine.

I bought the £30 one 3 yrs ago and it cracked this yr. Did very well in 3 yrs. One owner.Looked at them again but my colour was not in this time Champagne.So I looked around the same make Bemis. and saw this one of £18. Went into it.It looked good as the £30 one but a little thinner. Read reviews all seem good.Ordered one in white as i have a peachy cover for lid. It came The same screws as the the other one.Really easy to put on at 74 Yrs old. 2Pc. Better than the one i bought at Wilco's to many screws and things to put on, then that one was moving before i used it. Took it back. Bemis DONT move at all.Went back to the Bemis ones. Its a great toilet seat. Not too thin OR thick. Not heavy to put up lid Or down. Just nice. And its cheaper. I recommend this one to any one.This is not a false Review by the way.

Replaced like for like Bemis loo seat as the old one was beginning to look a bit tired and had a slight surface scratch after many years of use. New one is shinier but the build is much the same and seems pretty solid. Arrived with slight surface marks on the underside of the lid. When I tried to wipe these off, it appeared they were scratches (perhaps from the manufacturing process) and not removable. You wouldn't know they were there unless you were looking though so it wouldn't be a reason to send it back. What is more bothersome is the intoxicating plastic smell which now lingers in my loo. If I'd known about that in advance, I wouldn't have bought it. I hope it fades soon. On these two counts, I have given 4 stars instead of 5.

Its been great, does slam if not put doen carefullyAlso 5 month doen the line the paint has started to come off and looks yellow on the toilet seat like wee wee! Not very durable
