MountainsmithVibe Lumbar Pack

High quality lumber bag
I bought one of these about 15 years ago and it was time to buy a new one. I was quite rough with my first one and it held for quite a long time and it looks like the quality hasn't changed. Highly recommended, Great quality, very comfortable to use, perfect size for daily carry.

it works.
Like the description says its small. not overly, bc it holds alot if no weapon, but more compact than the fanny pack which is cheaper. I have both vibe and fanny, so will compare them here. this model is probably perfect size for most people wanting to carry cell phone , wallet , keys, energy bar, plus knife and small flashlite, lip balm.etc. I was just expecting slightly larger. and MS does need something larger in its lineup between the fanny pack and the the tour . this should come in two sizes. this size and something slightly larger than the fanny pack. like 1 inch taller and two inches longer. with zipper pouches on the flaps too. if you want something slightly larger get the fanny pack model. it holds more and has a bigger front pocket. its also easier to access due to zippers on top, but no padding or interior sleeves. the front pocket on this is alot smaller than fanny pack. keys only. it is also harder to access bc of the flap over zipper. its kind of a rain flap for inclement weather. the vibe actually holds my SD9 in the rear, but its tight so i think ill put my single stack Shield instead which fits behind the sleeve and put the SD9 in the Fanny. I wont be getting it out easily wo dumping the rest of my contents but for a small conceal carry pack, it will do the trick wo extrastraps inside. and you dont need them bc of the size and shape it tucks in nicely wo the muzzle falling down. mag will fit under too. its not designed for CC but it does the job so if you want less bulky and lower profile than some tactical waist packs like Voodoo this will work. it will hold a compact 9 or single stack easily but no bigger than glock 19. so take your pick. the slightly roomier fanny pack for ease of use, or this more compact style with padding and sleeve organization, plus zipper cover for more security. Mountainsmith should just make larger size in this style, in addition to this size, for people who want to carry a little more and have the same design and features. maybe a tactical model w holster? I believe the old version was larger and they should offer it as well for people who dont want the bulk and size of tour model which I would never wear bc its too big. Im more of a backpack person but for short jaunts this will do here in California bc there is no OC or CC really, so you need complete coverage. You will also need to purchase an extra triglide to hold down the extra loose strap which it should come with. Thanks for reading and thank you Mountainsmith for making fanny packs cool again. Make a slightly bigger tactical Vibe!

Most durable and long lasting fanny pack I've used.
I had tried a sling pack and found it annoying. I had several fanny packs, including a gray vibe that is years old. I decided to update to a new blue vibe and couldn't be happier. I plan to hang on to the old one for backup and give away the "also rans."

Great for sports or daily wear
Item: Black Vibe Lumbar PackI've been wearing this pack almost every day for two years. My wife likes to tell people I sleep in it. I guess I'm getting old, because I choose the functionality of this over jamming items in my pocket any day.Pros:•The Cordura fabric stands up to punishment. There is no noticeable wear after 2 years.•I've had no issues with the zippers or other fasteners.•Neutral colors that don't scream, "Hey, look at my fanny pack!"•Super versatile. Holds everything I need for a bike ride, romping around town, or traveling.Cons:•The strap is pretty long so it can be worn as a sling, but I just let it dangle usually.•The strap will sometimes begin to loosen, depending on the activity and load in the pack.

Functional, practical, durable
Very compact but functional pack. Well designed and placed internal compartments. Large pocket fits my 6" phone, wallet, sm notebook, and other sm items. External zip pocket for keys and pocket knife. The Cordura fabric is a good touch for durability and water resistance. Zippers are high quality. Overall happy q this upgrade from my jansport I used for 4 years until zippers malfunctioned. Hope to get twice the milage from this pack.

sturdy but super small
this pack is very sturdy and well made looking however it's too small for my needs, my phone can barely fit, yet it has these gigantic straps and wings. I thought it was a big pack!

A great place to keep your important valuables that's very durable.
This is my second Mountainsmith Vibe Lumbar pack. The original one I bought 5 years ago and it has gone around the world with me, on many rock climbing, mountaineering, cave exploring and kayaking trips. It's lasted exceptionally well considering what I have put it through. In the photos, you can see my 5 year old pack and the new one. On most trips, I keep my Samsung Galaxy phone in the hip pack. I destroyed a number of phones on adventure trips until I purchased this hip pack. I recommend this to anyone who needs a long lasting, durable hip pack.
