There are few things that you would cut with a utility knife that need a serrated blade. Most things cut best with a sharp regular blade. The serrated part actually makes many things more difficult to cut, like cardboard or drywall. Maybe when the blade gets dull, you can saw thru something like leather, but better to just change to a new blade.
