Hot Russian Bear Shifter Military Ops Romance
Act of Surveillance: Psi OpSeries: Immortal Ops: Psi Ops #7Author: Mandy M RothPage count: 458ppRelease date: 31st May 2021Since first discovering the varied story threads of the Psi Op series, I’ve become addicted to it.Written by Mandy M Roth, Psi Ops is Paranormal Security and Intelligence and covers shifters, vampires and shadow agents. The Immortal Outcasts are the off the grid or broken operatives - however, they have recently started working together in some of the books. In this one, Rurik, the Russian bear shifter, is on light duties after being injured during their last fight with a shady entity known as The Corporation.Rurik may not be happy about his current assignment - babysitting the woman who has ties to the enemy organisation, but he’s loyal so he’ll do it.Yet his shifter side can’t help but be attracted to her.The story starts twenty years previously with flashbacks to the discovery of a project that involved experiments on children. The flashback sees Rurik bonding with a child and letting her keep his jokey birthday presents. As part of his stay in America Rurik gets to ‘enjoy’ the almost sibling-like rivalry that involves various pranks between the shifters and Fang Gang (vampires) and between each other. With him it’s wolf shifter Duke who is his workplace frenemy.Bill and Gus, those adorable project Weirdos, come out of the woodwork and weave their magic again. Poor old Rurik doesn’t know what’s hit him when he finds himself stuck with them on the job of spying on their latest possible suspect - Liberty. If you’ve not read the last few books in the series, these are the guys from the experiments where it went wrong. Gus speaks in people’s minds and generally only to Bill. Oh, he slso carries his girlfriend around. A mannequin head called Mona; and Bill’s an older, round, uncouth cuddly - sort of - guy, who causes chaos. Yet between the two of them they normally help save the day. They’re a hi-light of the series and I can’t wait until Striker has to deal with them in the next book. This series has been going strong for a few years snd it’s very funny, full of sexy alpha males, danger, action and romance. The chemistry between Rurik and Liberty is sizzling and there’s a reason for that. It’s also very sweet in parts and though there’s a hook at the end it’s not a cliffhanger and the reader gets their complete HEA.Terrific stuff well worth the wait.

Loved This!
I absolutely loved this! Mandy's work, and especially as part of the I-Ops and PSI-Ops world seamlessly blends a great story, with great characters and a lot of humour! If you're reading this as part of the series, which I would strongly recommend - because you will be missing out otherwise - there are a few new characters being introduced in this one as well as a lead into Blaise's (part of the Crimson Ops series) story that is coming up!Rurik is the perfect grumpy, growly bear! Bill and Gus make you want to laugh out loud (fair warning if you're planning to read in public). And Liberty is another badass woman! I'm sure when you read this story you're going to be looking forward to the next one! As always, the romance is a standalone (HEA) in this, however, set against the backdrop of a larger story. I'm really excited to see where it all leads to!

Not much of a story.
There’s not much of a story here, and very little character development. The beginning is great, sets up the story well and left me looking forward to the book. But then, disappointing, Rurick has been an interesting character in previous books, here he’s a man who can’t string two words together. Bill and Gus are also in this book, as usual they end up heavily involved in events. But the author uses Bill as a tool to move the story forward. In stead of Liberty and Rurick getting to know one another, developing a relationship Bill tells them both how they feel and what they need to be doing, even what they are to each other (mates) leaving nothing to occur organically. Liberty is an interesting character but is portrayed as very young emotionally while being sexually older. Her two best friends Isobel and Daisy, also shine and are obviously going to get their own books. It is an easy read but much less of Bill telling you (and them) what’s happening is needed.

Brilliant read
Loved this book as usual from this author.Liberty first met Rurik when she was rescued from the scientific labs as a child. When Rurik is sent with bill and Gus to keep watch on a house housing liberty, daisy and isabell.A few ups and downs with the Corporation and Pavel and his hybrids and The sadistic Olga.A brilliant read loved it.

Awesome
I read the book in one sitting. I was rereading the Dark series and had just completed that. So Rurik was just in time. Throughly enjoyed it. Bit of laughter, excellent.. thank you. Now rereading New Haven series.. I simply love your books.

Great addition to the series.
Another great addition to the I-Ops series. Rurik was just too cute for being a ferocious bear shifter. As usual, Bill and Gus are providing the laughs however there is more to them than meets the eye. Well worth the wait!
