Are you ready to go off-road? the danchee 1/12 scale trail hunter rock crawler is designed for extreme rock crawling and rough terrain driving. The trail hunter is geared low to drive over rocks, branches and other obstacles. Hill braking technology - when Hill braking mode is activated the trail hunter will automatically apply braking when the throttle is released. When rock crawling with the trail hunter, Hill braking mode can be activated on-the -fly from the transmitter to help maintain control at low speeds, on steep hills and technical trail sections. Simply put Hill braking is the opposite of neutral coasting. The trail hunter includes dual high torque Brushed motors that provide tons of trail hunting and rock crawling action. Full time 4 wheel drive sends smooth power delivery to both the front and rear axles to help maintain traction during extreme conditions. Included is a 2.4GHz transmitter with a range of more than 170Ft. The transmitter automatically binds to the truck, with an audible confirmation, finding a unique channel to allow 20 or more trail hunters to run at the same time without worrying about interference issues. Steering trim allows for precise adjustments for vehicle tracking and digital proportional steering and throttle control give you full precise control of your vehicle. The trail hunter comes fully assembled and all you need are 6AA batteries for truck and 4AA batteries for transmitter (not included) to start driving. For more power and convenience, an optional rechargeable NiMH battery and charger (not included) are available. Search for danchee to find the available upgrades. Best deal around for under $50 for sure.
Best Rock Crawler around for the price, anything $50 or lower cant touch this in quality. Nice that you can pop out the AA battery tray and use your own battery, I added my own JST connector and now can use a Lipo battery various sizes from 1300-1500mah 20c, I would not go over 20c rating on this truck, picks the speed up quite a bit. I also added my own $5 LED front and back lights. I have a 1/8th scale maxstone rock crawler, I like this one so much better for inside and around my yard. The AA batteries do work fine but I would either recommend using Re-Chargeables or popping out the tray and using a battery pack or better yet a lipo. the connector is a mini tamiya, plenty of adapters out there to go from a mini tamiya to a more common end like JST, XT60, Bullet, Traxxas whatever end you get for the battery you want to use. extremely happy with the truck

Even the granddad loved this one!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I ordered this RC for my 3 year old grandson who was really into monster trucks (and who'd have to be closely supervised due to his age). He of course loved it but his dad and the other older children loved it maybe even more! I had fun with it. From the research I did, this was the only RC rock crawler / etc type of RC that had proportional steering and throttle for this price range. One of the others I was considering (by Maisto) at same price point was ON/OFF type of control (i.e. full left/right steer and full/no throttle) and was even noted for indoors only from one of the comments. Given all 4-5 star ratings (although not many to go by), I ordered the truck. I was impressed just looking at in the box when it came in. It looked well constructed and had features such as replaceable body, shocks, etc that I didn't really expect at this price point. I also ordered the associated battery pack (available separately on Amazon) to go with it since some of the ratings talked about how many batteries you'd go thru otherwise. After removing the 6 AA battery carriage (via 4 screws) and inserting the battery pack, we put it to the test. From the ratings, I was expecting it to do well, but it blew us all away! One of the 4 star ratings critiqued it as slow (since it was a crawler). So I was expecting it to "crawl" granny style all the time. Noooo... it really scooted fast! (Keep in mind I'm not experienced with gas powered RC type of racers, so this is likely slow in comparison to those). We ran the RC all around the front yard thru thick grass, mondo grass edging, a pile of old grass clipping, and over various bumps in the yard with ease. Then we dug out some split firewood pieces that was higher than the top of the truck, and it went flying up and over that without any problems. I think we ran it for a good 1/2 hour and didn't run out of power yet. It was getting late, so we had to put it up for now. Regarding use by my 3 year old grandson, he was picking up quickly how to drive it and really having a ball with it. So with close supervision, even the younger ones will enjoy this. Time will tell how well this will hold up with all the grandkids, but I'm guessing it'll do pretty well as long as it's handled like an RC. Shoot, I'm tempted to order another one for myself and maybe more for the other grandkids to race them together.

Buy it with Optional Ni-Mh Battery or Mod it for Lipo. Go Big or Go Home!
I bought another RC car for just under $30 that was just forward backward left and right. I thought it was a good deal til I saw this one with digital proportional control. I read the reviews and bought one without the optional battery. Removed the AA holder and soldered in a 2pin JST wire connector.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0132CPZSY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I also bought two Turnigy 1000mAh Lipo Packshttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0072AEHIC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1also the EV-PEAK E4 charger.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NCRDNGJ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1With the Lipo battery it really hauls. :-)Then I saw a the used Danchee Trail Hunter's were going for about $10 with tax so I bought it. The great thing was whoever bought and returned it must have been so disappointed by its performance with Alkaline AA's that they forgot to remove the brand new AA's. I got 10 free like new AA batteries I can use in the remote. :-)I tried it out with the Alkaline AA's and like all the reviews say it moves slow and certainly not in grass. I immediately modded it for the extra 1000mh LiPo battery and it was hauling the mail just like the first one. :-)Conclusion, don't buy this if your not going to buy the optional Ni-Mh battery or mod it for a LiPo battery. But if you read the reviews you would already know that.In short I think this was an incredible deal for only $10 to $12, LiPo battery ($13), charger ($36), plus connectors.

Great - if you have the right battery!
I tested this before giving to my nephew, and I'm glad I did. With 6 Rayovacs it is fairly slow (expected, it's a CRAWLER) and can only crawl over a shoe if you hit it at full speed. Turns very poorly on carpet, but is proportional. It requires a double trigger press to activate reverse which can extend gearbox life. This pulls too much juice for AA's, dropping from 9 volts to below 5. This is where it gets interesting: you can pull out the AA tray with 4 screws and access a "mini-tamiya" connector! (note: the connector polarity is REVERSE of normal). With a smaller 7.4v Lipo this thing became a ROCKET! It was able to climb big shoes from a stand-still like my $300 Axial; at speed it gets airborne. Steering is also much faster & stronger. I also tried a 9.6v airsoft battery and it was even faster, but I doubt it could handle it long. The 7.2v battery and charger set Amazon links you to should be all set to work, but if you use any other battery you MUST flip the wires. 7.2v and 8.4v NiMH airsoft batteries will work fine if you velcro them to the top of the chassis. Sub-C 7.2v batteries are a bit heavy but work. If your kid tends to crash a lot, a 6v receiver battery may be the best option. If this can't handle a crazy 6yr old I won't be too worried. It's cheap enough to replace, and it's cheap enough where you should spring for a decent rechargeable battery. It will save you money in the end!

Excelente producto

I regret i bought this truck!
After a week, finally it delivered today. All the parts and the body are perfect. But, I was so dissappoint, i put six 1.5 volt battery in the truck and four 1.5 volt battery in the transmitter and recharable battery is not available. The truck can barely run. It cannot even run about only 1 meter. What should I do to make this truck as it should be
