Better than buying whole cable/latch assembly and better than factory plastic.
Bought a 98 Ranger Super Cab with only 37K miles. At 20 years old it was in excellent condition. Then one rear door stopped working and a bought a new pull handle only to find that it was the cable end that had broken up allowing the whole cable sheath and all to pull through making it useless. I am glad I bought the large kit because there are 4 cable ends per door. I have ended up replacing 2 on one side and all 4 on the other. These cable ends work great. You will have to shave or file the cable sheath where the old end was attached to get the aluminum replacement to slide down on it like it should. The cam end works on the top latch. You will have to remove the inside door panel to get to the top and bottom latches inside the door. I don't any way to remove the cable end ball from the top latch and seeing no way to disassemble it, I thought I was going buy a whole new cable and latch assembly to make the repair. The cable end was to long to install without removing the cable from the latch. So I just put the cam type replacement alum. Cable in a vise and used a hacksaw to shorten it about 1/4", enough that it would fit between the latch and slide over the sheath. It worked perfect. Make sure to use on one of the four cam type ends for the top latch. The pull handle ends are easier since you only have to drill out the handle and rivet it back in after the repair. The hardest part is getting the cable end ball back into the slot of the pull handle.

Perfect.
Our 1999 Ford F-250, both rear doors had frozen, onr over 2 years ago. My first time doing this, although I have done much work and restoration on vehicles. These were exact fit, using the cam at the top and bottom cable ends, regular ones on the rest. You do need a good crimping tool to crimp the area that has the sleeve inside. I could not find my heavy duty one, so used a good crimping tool I had from my electronics days. All worked out fine, both doors opening and latching like new. If only Ford would have used quality metal ones and not plastic, this would save lots of owners lots of time and money. Fortunately I was able to do mine, and at 79 years old it is still not an easy job.

Perfect repair for a 2002 Ford F-250
This product easily replaces the plastic and rubber parts that are prone to breaking on the extended cab doors of a Ford truck. Super simple to replace. Saved me over $1000 compared to what Ford was going to charge me to fix the doors. The doors are working great again.

Perfect in 2000 F-250
Many reviews indicated that some modification was required to get these to fit. I had no issues with that using them on the rear "suicide" doors of a 2000 F250 Super Cab. They fit perfectly out of the box. The only remotely difficult (and it actually wasn't difficult at all) part was snapping the new aluminum ends into the brackets on the door mechanisms. I used a pair of pliers to pop them in with no trouble and I'm glad they fit tightly so I'm confident they won't pop out with use.Very happy with this purchase and wish Ford had used something like this to begin with instead of the crappy plastic ones they use. These will outlast the truck.

Easy repair!
Installed these on my rear doors on a e99 Ford F-250. Perfect solution to one door that couldn’t be opened. Did both to be sure it didn’t happen in the other side.I had to use a small pry bar to open up both top door latch’s to install the ends. Used a vice to close up the latch’s once the end was installed.

Money Saver
These saved me about $900.00 to get my back doors to open again on my F250 Super Duty. The Dealer wanted that much for one door and both of mine wouldn't open. Three stars on the installation because the doors themselves not these parts. They weren't easy to get open and take apart. I did have to do some minor fitting on these pieces to get them in the brackets. I have been using them for almost two years now and still working fine.

Great stuff.
Man, this was the best money ever spent on ford doors. Mine had to be used in the back gate on my 2000 expedition and they worked flawlessly. The gate and window quit at the same time, imagine that. I think some of it was due to my stereo and it is 20 years old so...... that being said the plastic ones lasted far longer than I thought they would but now that it has the metal ones I think they will last a lifetime now.
