Great office chair cushion, 100% Buckwheat filler, 100% cotton
I rarely write positive reviews but some of the reviews here were so misleading that I almost considered making my own buckwheat pillow which took hours from my life in research. I was looking for an office chair cushion for better WFH ergonomics and since I'm trying to minimize plastic in my life, I wanted a buckwheat cushion, not a foam/polyester one. My sleeping pillow is buckwheat and after doing a brief sitting test, I found it comfortable enough to continue on with my plan. I came across this and others like it on amazon, and was leaning heavily towards this one because:1) Cheaper than the rest2) 100% Cotton cover and 100% buckwheat hulls fillingBut I saw on the reviews that it had a Prop 65 warning because the hulls were actually acrylic??? Since I saw no pictures substantiating this claim, and making my own pillow might be an order of magnitude more on cost and time, I decided to take the plunge and if the description was as wrong as the reviewer said, return it.So I was glad that the product description is right. It is 100% buckwheat hull fillers and 100% cotton. The only plastic is in the zipper enclosure. TBD as it is as flimsy as the other reviewers have said. I'm pretty happy with my WFH setup and I find the cushion helps me maintain a better posture. There was a bit of a smell, but it reminded me of when I open a bedsheet package. After a day it was gone.As to the prop 65 warning... I live in California... those stickers are everywhere and they are not really helpful as to inform you of the reason why and to quantify the risk. Somethings have the sticker and are not really dangerous if used as intended and other things that are dangerous are yet to be labeled. Some companies put the sticker without testing just to not get into trouble. Could it be because the buckwheat hulls? Psyllium husks (even some organic ones) have the prop 65 warning because the hulls bioaccumulate contaminant in the soil, so it could be something similar.

Comfortable
I had been watching this cushion and another brand / design for over a year. Both had reduced prices on Prime Day, so I decided to just buy both. When reading the reviews I saw complaints for bugs, size, and shape. But when I got the cushion, I didn't have any issue with any of those things. I ended up keeping both cushions because they are both good in their own way. Now I find myself lying on the floor with my feet on the other cushion and my head on this one. I know that's not what they're intended for, but they are both comfy and I'm glad to find another use for them in case I don't keep up with meditation.

Good cushion
I was a little leery considering some of the bad reviews but figured I could always send it back. Turned out to be exactly as advertised. It has bag-in-bag construction and both bags have a zipper. I was concerned about some of the reviews that mentioned bugs / insect infestation so I left it in my truck in the hot NM sun for a week to kill any potential bugs, larvae, or eggs. Great purchase.

Make a good travel meditation cushion
This is smaller than I expected but it works fine I'm 6'3 and I thought it would be to small but it works fine

Very hard
You can adjust the amount of buckwheat to make the cushion a bit more comfortable but it is still very hard.

This is a great pillow for meditation and does not take up a lot of space!

Good meditation cushion
I bought this because I was meditating on my bed/couch and it was ruining my posture. This is both solid and supportive. You tend to need to sit further on the edge up front for the most comfort. My legs still fall asleep after some time, so makes it easier to meditate in good posture, but is not a cure all.

Cancer-causing chemicals
There was a warning on the side of the box that it contained or was coated in a chemical known by the state of California to cause cancer. When I looked up the chemical, it apparently can cause reproductive issues, and I'm not sure anyone would want to sit on that. I should have read the other reviews before purchasing, and if I could give less than one star I would. That being said, the return went well.

Ditch the yoga hype and sell more. This is a great footrest!
I actually purchased this to use as a foot rest for the primary use, and then to have the benefit of also using it as a floor cushion for the times I need to sit on the floor.I was looking for a REALLY firm footrest, but not one that's hard plastic. I've used plastic and steel ones before, which have no give and are VERY hard on my feet, and the foam ones which are firm at first, but always seemed to soften too much. Both plastic ones and foam ones are also bad for the environment.I have a buckwheat pillow for sleeping, which is great because it's super firm, but also has give in it. I was trying to find a buckwheat footrest and by chance ended up looking at all these hyped up yoga/ pilates/ meditation labelled items. When I saw these "zafu yoga" pillows I figured the size would be just right for a footrest for under my office desk. This slightly crescent shape is perfect, and the size and height are just right for my feet. Overall dimensions are pretty inline with other dedicated "foot" supports. There's just the right amount of give so I dont get pain in my feet, but it's nice and firm to support the weight of my legs without going squidgy. For the price, this is pretty on par with a lot of foam footrests, and I think this one is far more durable. It's also breathable and washable cotton canvas fabric and buckwheat hulls are a natural material, so I think this is far better for the environment than whatever oil-industry by-products foam is made from. If the hulls ever get too crushed or musty, I can buy a sack of replacement hulls (which I can also source locally from farmers within my province) and the old ones can go into my compost heap.I don't know what zafu is, and frankly I don't care enough to google it. I don't think pillows make you meditate better (more? at all?)So I kind of wish companies like this would broaden their horizons. If you didn't target ONLY twenty-to-thirty-something upper middle class, probably stay-at-home women, you could probably sell more of your products. AND if you stopped with the ridiculous zen themes and marketing hype, people like my thirty-something techy partner would have looked at something like this as a comfortable, more durable, and environmentally-friendly footrest instead of the more expensive memory-foam, polyester microfibre-covered foam footrests he bought. Instead it won't even show in his search parametres, because he doesn't own any lululemon outfits. My griping about this ridiculous marketing now over, I actually really recommend this pillow. It works great as a floor pillow as well, if you actually wanted to use it for it's intended purpose. It's also great to kneel on.

Comfortable
This was exactly what I needed in my life, I have sore hip and knee issues from soccer injuries so sitting on the floor was never quite the best feeling for me. this has solved those problems that little bit of elevation thats the pressure off of my knees and ankles and my hips feel aligned, I can just focus on meditating.

not bad id like to see a small-bean shape model
i would like space for my ankles to rest closer to my crotch when i sit cross-legged-- i was tempted to buy the bean-shape of this but the size offered is too big for my knees to rest below my hips.thus-- i vouch for a 'lady-size' bean-shaped cushion.removed some buckwheat cuz mine was too poofy, more is better than not enough- i suppose.updatei removed 7 cups of buckwheat-- disadvantage to the round shape--1) sat, the buckwheat migrates to the round part that sticks past ur crotch, fixed by seating on it then pushing the seat in, it is good-- i see why there's a bean shape, for a second reason...2) there is no support past ur sitting bones, round shape feels like it's just hanging off without support, even when cross-legged on the floor, removed 7 cups of buckwheat for desired loftspend 8 more dollars is worth for the bean shapemake sure you have a yoga mat or a nice surface for ur ankles if ur on hardwood floor--push the seat in after mashing ur butt into the seat initially, get better weight distribution (i sink too far in b/c the front pushing my leg and hip backward due to the aforementioned buckwheat redistribution with unseated part of the round cushion)i'm not sure why they don't just sell the bean model, the round is pretty much a version 1, that's inferior in many ways to the bean-shape...
