Landed on our wooden stairway on my way down to the first floor . . . a real wakeup-call ! Surveyed the "gripper" sock offerings and settled on these Novayard socks primarily because the price seemed reasonable and compared to the other brands these socks appeared to have nearly the same attributes. My verdict is I made chose wisely. These socks stop about 3 inches above my ankle bone which is what I had hoped for, they are soft and comfortable, and the sole protection certainly allows for significantly increased traction. What's been told to me is hospital socks like these can cause one to suddenly lurch forward as a result of the adhesive-like grip if one hurries along. With this in mind I'll make my way more leisurely . . . especially when I'm on steps. Their excellent slip protection offers me some "leap of faith" at least as it pertains to hard wood floors and step . . . never want to repeat the fall that resulted in the purchase of these socks . . . I'm trusting Novayard to assist in keeping me safe.

These socks seem to have enough "traction" , but the elastic around the ankle was so tight that my husband could not wear them😕. They felt like a "tourniquet!" I am going to keep them and wear them myself.( I have smaller ankles!😂)
