Q: What is the product made of? Plastics? Rubber?

It is plastic... not as soft as rubber but not hard plastic.

Q: I have had other silicone spatulas and they melt when placed on the edge of a pan. wondering if these do that?

Q: How large is the rest opening? I have thicker Magnalite pots and I want to make sure they will fit.
