It actually helps enhance the flavor and gives it a little more chewiness to it. Makes homemade Bagels great
I bought this after reading Alton Browns recipe for bagels. They are great and taste like the hand made ones I got as a kid growing up in New York. Alton’s recipe is the best one I’ve tried and the Malt Syrup made all the difference.
