This saffron is a total game-changer for cooking AND baking! I've never used such a versatile spice. I was looking to make a unique dessert for my family and realized that I could add saffron to cake! I made a milk cake recipe and added a bit of saffron to both the cake and the 'milk' portion of the cake. I was amazed that such a small amount went such a long way.After adding 1 teaspoon of the saffron threads to 1 tablespoon of hot water, the saffron became even more fragrant and vibrant. Not only does the flavor add an extra bit to cooking, the yellow color is a beautiful aesthetic to any recipe.The cake came out flavorful, sweet, and with an extra 'boost' from the saffron. My family loved this and asked when I was going to make it again.I also love that a little goes a long way, as I have tons left over for my next cooking endeavors. You can use this in rice, with meat, in tea, and of course, in dessert!I absolutely recommend this saffron. It came as promised, on time, and created an amazing dish that my family won't stop talking about (which is hard sometimes when you have kids!!). This spice is an excellent addition to your spice rack and you should absolutely grab some today!

I just received this yesterday. Therefore, I can't give it qn honest review yet. I will say that the seller shipped it as promised and the product was as described. It's a really small jar, which I expected. I want to try a less expensive one to begin with. When I try it, I'll re-visit and update.

AMAZING FLAVOR FOR THE PRICE.

I use this for cooking plus I mix with hot water and leave to stand for 2 days until the colour has come out of the saffron then pour into a 2ltr bottle of cold water through a tea strainer give it a shake and give it my birds to drink helps them when in moult and stressed used it for year's when I started showing fife canaries and won many shows or taken rosettes a old chap told me about it many year's ago didn't matter what birds I kept they have had this you only need a good pinch it goes bright yellow or a orange colour depending on the saffron colour.

I've found that when buying saffron, it's a bit of a lottery.In theory, it all looks the same, but in reality, it can be very different. And the face value (cost) of the saffron isn't always an indicator the saffron strands will be as expected.The Premium Organic Red Saffron - Grade I I've purchased here look better than my last batch of spanish saffron purchased whilst in spain from a very reputable seller of saffron. Is that a good thing, or bad thing?No idea is the honest answer. But as long as it has the desired effect, I'm happy. Finding out that your "expensive" saffron isn't actually saffron isn't the end of the world for me.In the words of a wise man, we live and learn...

From the moment you open the jar and the scent hits you, you know this is going to be a total treat. I use it both in baking and cooking, and it's great in either. Fragrant and tasty, and a lot better quality than most saffron I've ever bought

When this first arrived I was a little disappointed - but when I emptied the Jar into my old container which I thought was nicer - I soon realised how tightly they had pushed the saffron in - you get plenty for your money - I have used it to flavour my Rice and in a Korma and the colour and subtle taste as a sophistication to my cooking.

Sometimes I've used saffron and not detected that it's in there, but this is very good quality and makes all the difference.This is the one that I will be buying from now on. Very good indeed.Now I'm wondering if the stuff I bought previously in the little plastic boxes was actually genuine saffron at all!?
