Rain-X 83199 Car Winscreen Washer AdditiveUse the Rain-X Windscreen Washer Additive to quickly cleans your car's windscreen, cutting through bugs, tree sap & road grime. It instantly applies 'RainX Repellent' each time the windscreen washer fluid is used, improving your visibility.Rain-X Rain/Water Repellent Glass Treatment, 200ml, 80199200Rain-X Rain Repellent improves wet weather visibility and safety by creating an invisible hydrophobic coating to repel rain, sleet, and snow. The coating also makes for easy removal of ice, salt, mud and bugs. It is ideal for car windscreens, side and rear windows and even headlight covers. Simply apply the treatment to exterior glass using a cloth and wipe onto the windscreen/windows using a firm, circular motion. Allow to dry and then buff with a dry cloth, wiping until clear. Watch the raindrops fly off your windscreen while driving along. You can also use this on your glass shower door to stop soap scum from sticking. Please note: Avoid using Rain X Rain Repellent on any plastic surfaces, including motorcycle windshields, ATVs and solar panels, plastic shower doors, glass shower doors with etching or frosting, Plexiglass and fibre glass. We recommend Rain-X Plastic Water Repellent for any plastic surfaces. Always use windscreen wipers as necessary.

Horrific - Don't Believe The Hype!
Purchased this for my just-out-the-showroom £80k CLS350d 4-matic, my absolute pride and joy. Ratio used as per instruction.Severe and utter disappointment when I needed my washers the most.Performed so horrifically that I struggled to see through my windscreen to get home in mediocre UK July rain conditions (yes we have rain in the Summer) that would otherwise have been very manageable to drive in if it hadn't been for the severely impairing and disgusting grease-ridden smears across my entire front windscreen, after blasting it just once! Not only did Rain-X restrict viewing due to the grease and fogginess it left behind, but the beading was unnoticeable.Just to educate sellers of Rain-X, introducing beading into a product like this means at reasonable driving speeds, as soon as rain hits the windscreen, it runs off without settling - in a nutshell, they want this to happen because...(i) you won't need to use your wipers as much - which is counter to what I and a many other reviewers have found using this Rain-X, since it greases, and in turn, fogs your windscreen up so much that you're forced to drive the wipers even longer, and;(ii) it looks 'good' - not if you're the driver using this utter gobsh*te of a product. I, and the rest of the community, can testify it does NOT look good or 'cool' using a product that beads up on your windscreen but in turn causes fogginess and grease across your windscreen. This product was so underwhelming and disappointed that on a single short drive home (yes, the same journey that I had to endured this rubbish Rain-X in) I deliberately jettisoned the entire contents of my washer fluid tank.I'll never use this again.Perhaps the US market has a variation of this product which may perform better, but I won't be making any international purchases for screenwash (more important things to worry about in life) - the contents sold across the continent certainly look different - US markets sells the orange liquid, we get the pink/red variant.Did I also mention the packaging came as per what is relayed by a number of other reviewers here - Loose and pathetically-packaged sellophane-wrapped bottle, which was leaking from the cap and onto the insides of the parcel and bottle itself. It was all over my hands just from opening the parcel, and this is displayed as being carcinogenic in its contents - fantastic. You don't have to have an £80k motor to call it your pride and joy. I wouldn't even have used this on my Ford fiesta back in the day!Shameful.Misleading.Underwhelming.Unfulfilling.Dissatisfied.Lack of duty and care.Carcinogenic.And just god damn disrespectful to sell to customers a half-packaged, damaged and unfulfilling product.

Great but be warned if you have automatic wipers
Works really well and keeps the windscreen clear. One word of warning - if you car had automatic wipers then this will mess with the setting as the film it leaves on the screen confuses the sensor.

It certainly works, but the results are a little weaker than expected.
The media could not be loaded. Overview: It makes a difference, but it depends on expectations.Disclaimer: I usually say that I don’t know what I’m doing! Well actually, I have some experience with hydrophobic coatings...but that doesn’t mean I’m an expert. Hopefully this review helps!Postage and Packaging: It was sent by Prime and arrived as promptly as always. Whilst it initially seemed well packaged, on closer inspection there seemed to be no seal to the bottle. The pictures show that it had leaked - although only slightly. It is still an irritant and had also affected the labels.First Impressions: It can be diluted to several strengths - obviously from neat to much lower concentrations. You are to gauge what the temperature range is likely to be. Given that it is March, I went on the cautious side and had it at higher concentration.Having said that, for the initial trial (see video) I applied the RainX neat into the washer reservoir. Since I wasn’t sure what amount of fluid was present already, this isn’t the most scientific of tests! After that, you simple use your washers when you need to, and it acts to keep applying the RainX. Simples! So as I said before, I’ve used the Gtechniq G1 which is slightly more involved. If this is your first product like this, it may take a little getting used to. You need to have faith that it will act and fight the desire to wipe the windscreen. Once the water has built up, it streams off but it needs to have a certain amount first. You also need to be doing a certain speed (30mph+) so that the airflow forces the water off.Further findings: So whilst it worked on the Motorway, it wasn’t the most stellar of performances and I would still prefer the water was wicking away quicker. I also applied it to the rear to see what impact it had with limited airflow. As you can tell from the after picture...None!So its not bad. I suspect that time spent applying the original is a better suggestion though. In terms of value for money, well that depends on how long the washer reservoir lasts and how it performs going forward.

Smeared my windscreen!
I don’t do many reviews on amazon but this really disappointed me and actually caused much concern to me. I mixed the fluid to match the current weather at the time which was around 1-2 degrees. This meant that once mixed it just about filled the reservoir which I was happy with (hence the reason for 2 stars)However, after using the wash on a bright sunny day while the temperature was hovering around the 1-5 degree mark through the day it completely smeared the whole windscreen to the point of the sun glare physically impacting my vision at some angles. Imagine you’ve had your car washed and you use a dirty old cloth on a windscreen and it leaves multiple smears on the screen, well that’s what happened. After this I had to completely flush my washer fluid system with warm hot water and then cold water as the coating lined the whole system and even caused smears on my trusty old Halfords windscreen wash (which I recommend by the way even in cold weather for a much cheaper price and you get 3 full refills out of it compared to the 1 from the rain-x mix in the same temperatures!) which has never happened before and confirmed for me that the rain-x was the problem after all. Please be warned and just stick to Halfords or a pre mix fluid as it does the job much better.P.S. I bought this mainly for the rain-x solution that repels the water hence the chance from my Halfords wash.
