How To Replace Tissues 101
After recently switching to a bidet + washclothes, I am befuzzled at why the last couple of generations have decided that disposable products are the way of the future. Oh well - life is full of oddities. Hopefully this review is beneficial for others considering joining the hanky community or existing members looking to resupply their hanky arsenal.Recently, I purchased the following 4 decently rated hankies from Amazon.- Dockers Men's 13 Piece Permanent Press Hankies, White, One Size - Van Heusen 13 Pack Cotton Handkerchiefs Solid White - Dockers Men's 6 Piece Hankie Fashion Pack, Asstorted, One Size - The Organic Handkerchiefs Company Set of Medium Organic Flannel Hankies, Natural Fellow Amazoner, here is the order in which I would recommend them to you (and why).1) Docker's Perm Press (65% poly + 35% cotton, 16x16") - absorbency: 15mm - gets a loose thread once awhile + relatively inexpensive ($1 per hanky) + iron-free and dryer safe (though I personally hang-dry everything)2) Organic (100% "organic flannel" cotton, 11x11") - expensive ($6 per hanky, ouch) - a bit small for folding purposes (11x11") - a bit harder to use while performing a nasal excavation (for you fellow miners) + absorbency: 6mm + very fluffy and is appropriately substantial + iron-free and dryer safe3) Docker's Fashion Handkie (100% cotton, 16x16") - absorbency: 10mm - needs ironing if you want it to look unused + iron-free + no loose threads + "fashion", adorable advertising scheme4) Van (100% cotton, 13x13") - absorbency: 14mm - frequently gets loose threads - requires ironing in order to not be useless - thinnest hanky among these 4 + "van 100% cotton", adorable brand bias+ all of them fit discretely into your pocket when folded properly.*Absorbency is a measurement of the diameter of the circle produced by dropping 1/4 a tsp of tap water onto the center of an unfolded hankie placed on a flat surface. I know a bucket of water would be more realistic for most of us, but this test is easier to reproduce. While Organic's hankies are probably better, I'm personally satisfied with Dockers. Dockers have a closer consistency to those evil facial tissues.Summary:- choose Dockers and/or Organic- every brand has their own abbreviation for the word "handkerchief"- don't always trust the majority (i.e. Van are the most popular hankies on Amazon)- this is what a poorly structured review looks like

Soft and absorbent
I go through tissues like, well, there's no tomorrow, as the saying goes. Now that tomorrow really is in question I decided it was time to return to handkerchiefs. I didn't want the old-fashioned stodgy white ones my dad always had, but I also didn't want precious designer or lace ones either. After a couple hours of research, I came upon these. After more research I kept coming back to these and decided to take the plunge on the middle sized ones. They arrived quickly in very attractive, eco-friendly packaging. They are somewhat thicker than a traditional hankie, but they wouldn't work as well if they were any thinner. They are softer than any lotion or aloe tissues, impossible to sneeze or blow through and I feel so virtuous using them. My holiday shopping just got very easy!

I wish I would have switched sooner
These handkerchiefs are exactly what I was hoping for. They are incredibly soft, yet strong. They hold up very well in the wash, and I love that I do not need to iron them. My kids have put them to the test with their fall colds, and we all much prefer blowing our noses on the soft fabric versus paper kleenex. Switch! You won't regret it, and you'll save your nose, and some trees.I came back to add to my review, saying we have continued to increase our stock to ensure we don’t run out as we all have gotten spoiled using these. I love how well they wash, and that they come out of the dryer wrinkle free.1/5/19 UpdateThese handkerchiefs are still the same as the day we purchased them, even after years of consistent use. None are stained. We throw them in with our regular laundry, and they always come out perfect. Our kids complain when they are all in the wash and they have to use “fake Kleenex” now.6/7/20 I am updating to add that we have purchased more of these (got my mom hooked), and though the color was slightly different they have performed the same. For those saying theirs wrinkle/curl in the dryer, maybe it’s the heat setting being used?

Definitely good for the winter months.
These are quite soft and wash up well. They last!

A little thick for my petite nose, but probably great for a larger nose
I'm writing this from my husband's account where I made the purchase. I love how soft this handkerchief is! I would definitely use it if I have a cold. However, it's a little thick for me for daily use, I have a very petite nose. I love the cotton ones, though!

Softest hankie ever
I have been using flannel hankies for years. It’s a form of self-care to always have a soft clean hankie on hand in case my nose runs, the wind makes my eyes water, or I succumb to tears. I like the 11” size because it fits easily in a pocket or handbag. This brand has the SOFTEST hankies!! I also appreciate the organic certifications.

Buy. These. Now.
Don't make my mistake. Buy these now. They're lovely. After I got my first set 9 months ago I came back for more, but they were out of stock. I just bought another trio. No, they're not worn out, stained, or ruined. The thick, strong, baby-soft fabric is perfect for sniffly noses and much more. I keep one handkerchief in my eyeglass case. Another wipes fingerprints and fog from car mirrors and windows. I'd like one in my first aid kit for wound dressing. The medium is a bit bigger than a disposable tissue, which is a good size for me. They fit well in most pockets, just not the froo-froo ones designers add just to raise garment prices. Medium is smaller than a bandana, but the thickness makes it just as bulky. I want to stash one of these handkerchiefs in every jacket.Seriously. Quit reading. Put these in your cart and check out now or you may wind up wishing and waiting like I did.
