Adams Media Corporation The "Everything" Guide to Cooking for Children with Diabetes

Just what I've been searching for.
Since my 2 year old son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes I have been trying to find a good recipe book that would:A - cover type 1 diabetesandB - please a toddler and his fussy sisters (not to mention Mum and Dad)This book has it all. Great recipes, good information, suggestions for leftovers and substitutes for things that you might choose to omit from your cooking. I live in Scotland so it is refreshing to see an American cookbook that is not over reliant on processed or artifical food. So far I haven't come across any ingredients that couldn't be readily purchased in the UK. I now have several diabetes cookbooks (including ones aimed at kids) but this is my favourite so far.

Disappointed
The recipes are good, but I can hardly see them. The print on some of the recipes was so light I couldn't read them on the first book. I returned it and they sent me another book and it was not much better. I went to the "index" to look up smoothies and when I turned to the pages that were in the index I got Beef Piccata, Veal Cutlets with Ricotta Cheese & Spinach, Broiled Scallops with Apple-Wood Smoked Bacon, Beef and Pea Stir Fry, Sauteed Yellow Squash and Carrots, and last , but not least, Chapter 7 Holidays that Rock. Most of the recipes contained ingredients that my granddaughter would not eat. This book was a real disappointment for me at very challenging time.

Four Stars
Useful, but some American ingredients in some recipes which I'm not sure what they are!
