cigarette plug does not work
Buy at your own risk; Mine is going in the TRASH. I wish it worked. I recently found out the "cigarette lighter" plug "NEVER" did work. I contacted the manufacturer and they would not even have a discussion because it was bought 200 days ago. The company is NOT interested in investigating defects. I put off getting my car looked at (I thought it was my new Subaru that had an electrical defect) I finally went to get my car serviced because the cooler didn't work in the car. yes, I procrastinated on that because it's a brand new car. Other things to focus on. However, recently we plugged the cigarette lighter plug into an electric generator at home; didn't work there either. I do know when I used the plug one time in the car, afterward the car would not start (new car) so I called dealer and get it going again. I will say, at home, using the Traditional two prong plug in an outlet; the cooler was terrific! So for me, this is USELESS in the car. It's going in the TRASH. Arizona is Hot. I drive kids. I won't depend on this product to get us all through 114 degrees if we have a flat. I also Waited to publish this review until I heard form the manufacturer. Sadly, they are not interested in a defective product. Hope all you buyers live in cool climates.

Good Cooler
I purchased this cooler for a 5000 mile road trip last month. It functioned well for 25 days straight. Kept all my drinks and fruit cold while on the road. When I stopped driving I plugged the unit into 120 volt outlet and kept it running.Pros:Kept food and drinks cold and ran an extended amount of time.Cons:Only had 2 issues I was not happy about. First was when cooler was plugged into my truck 12 source the adapter plug sometimes got very hot. It also blew out 3 25 amp fuses in my truck during my trip. So that's not good.Second issue was water from condensate I think collected under the fan in the lid and in the bottom of the cooler. All in all I was pleased with this cooler and would purchase it again.

This exceeded my expectations and works perfect
I just bought this for a 21 day cross country driving trip. Out of the box it was exactly as advertised. I plugged it into 120VAC first added a bottle of cold water and a room temperature 2 pound bag of beef jerky. I also put a thermometer inside and closed the lid. After on hour it brought the inside temperature down 10 degrees and after 2 hours it brought the temperature down another 10 degrees to 40 degrees fahrenheit. I unplugged it and plugged it into a 12VDC portable power supply I have that has a cigarette lighter socket. I added a 16 ounce can of tomato soup which was at room temperature (60 degrees) I left the house for 2 hours and when I came back it had chilled the soup and the inside temperature was 40 degrees again. Some people said it was noisy. Mine is so quiet I didn't think the fan was running. I like that it has both the AC and DC plugs built in and in a convenient to access compartment. It is very light and just weights a few pounds. We plan to put perishable food and snacks inside for our trip, bring a normal small ice chest for our drinks and bring it in our room every night so we can plug into the hotel outlets. Both our car and truck have both 12VDC and 120VAC outlets so we can run it on either inside our vehicles. We are also taking a dog on our trip and we like to supplement his kibble with ground cooked lamb so we will keep that inside this as well. It exceeded my expectations which is rare these days. I didn't see any electrical specifications for this and have a power monitor and plan to connect it to the monitor over this weekend. The 120VAC outlets in my vehicle are rated at 300 watts. Not sure if I can add photos after I submit this review but if I can I will post a picture of the LCD display of the power monitor. It will show wattage, cost per hour and its carbon footprint.

Great cooler!!
When you're out in the desert all day, it sure is nice to have cold food and drinks! Worked better than expected, no messing with ice or ice packs. I was expecting stuff to be the temperature of a cool basement, my stuff was refrigerator-cold. Never heard it in my car, I checked a few times to make sure it was still running.

works but takes a few hours to cool down
gave it a 4 star only because it takes a few hours to cool down-but worked great on our road trip of 2000 miles

Pleasantly surprised!
I have no idea how cold it is in there but I loaded it with room temperature drinks and just a few hours later everything is cold cold cold! The fan noise is pleasant, not at all too loud. Right now it's in a hotel room but I would imagine in the car, I won't even hear it. I did almost break the dang top trying to figure out how to open it, glad I didn't! Handle one way to open, the other way to close. Easy peasy once I figured it out. And I love that the cords are already attached and in their own compartment on top because I misplace cords like no one's business. Very happy with this purchase.

3 1/2 months and the fan died
I'm extremely disappointed in this product NOW, while I had been thrilled with it before now. When I spend $100 on a lunch box, I expect it to last much, MUCH longer. The fan stopped. This has been going on for about a month now, but I thought maybe it was just condensation reducing the effectiveness of the fan. Monday this week, I loaded it up with my lunch and turned it on. When I returned for lunch, it was room temperature.I observed that the fan wasn't spinning. I slapped it a couple times and the fan started going again, but soon after, it stopped.Look, this box travels TO work on Monday, then back home on Friday. It's not subjected to a lot of movement.I have the skills to replace the motor if I can find the motor, but I want to advise you all that with these type problems after only 3 months, this thing definitely isn't worth $100.Again, last week, I would have told you it was the best $100 I ever spent. I've changed my mind.

Perfect for Hospital Stays
I would give this K-box 50 stars if I could, it is that amazing. My daughter is in the hospital frequently for 2 or 3 weeks and needs a way to keep things cool. This is like having a mini fridge in her hospital room. My plan is to buy another one next month so she can warm up food. I wish I had learned about electric coolers earlier.
