Nice
Very knowledgeable, finding it hard to get into with big words and so much information. Feel a little out of my element and like I need to read more on it before diving into this book.

Really helps me understand how my anxiety works and how to handle it
Great book. My anxiety and depression make so much more sense after reading this. I feel like I have a biological and emotional understanding of it, plus lots of tools and explanations for helping me stay in a better state.

Interesting
A very interesting concept. The author adds exercises that one can employ to "test" out the poly vagal theory. I would recommend it to anyone interested in studying the possibility of self-growth and awareness as it relates to the central nervous system.

Daily Practice
This is very well written and actionable. I have a daily practice of reviewing Deb’s polyvagal cards and reading a page of Anchored. Then journaling. I am very grateful for a clear set of steps to help me self regulate. This is a very valuable body of therapy and I love that I can self administer! Thank you Deb for the care you give to so many!

Excellent book
This is the perfect read if you want to learn more abs improve your health, as a layperson. This isn’t mean to be a quick read and really recommend reading one chapter every couple days and thinking through/incorporating her recommendations. I’ve listened to her on podcasts, which inspired me to read her book.

Held, calm, nourished hearing her read!
We got the audio and the e-book. We listened, and followed along on he iPad. Her voice is so calming and she gently yet powerfully introduces this work which is so key to understanding and having honest compassion for ourselves!

For me - Life Changing
This book is one of those things you didn’t know you were looking for till you found it. Only half way through and already using techniques to bring me back to my safe place and face situations in a way I’ve never been able to before. For me it really is life changing - Everybody should read this book.

Non scientific
Disappointed with this purchase as the initial review was by a PhD, so I was expecting a more scientific approach. I am happy to "place my hand on the back of my neck and the other on my chest and feel my polyvagal nerve" but would have appreciated a more detailed description of the autonomic nerve system and its branches (there is one image in the book with no description or scientific names).
