Sturdy construction with room for expansion
I installed this under my grandmother's shelter in order to plug in the travel trailer. The existing electrical plug no longer worked due to a (presumably) cut burial wire. I really like the fact that there is built in room for expansion in the form of 2 breaker slots that are in addition to the breakers for the 30 amp & 20 amp plugs. I used one of these breaker slots to run 2 flood light in the shelter. A big upgrade from the 0 previous lights. This box is of solid construction. The one challenge I faced had to do with the top of the box. I wanted to bring a 1" conduit out of the top of the box. Unfortunately, this box is designed to allow only a 3" conduit to securely exit the top. Time to get creative. I drilled a hole in the metal cover, installed a threaded adapter fitting with locking nut, removed the bolt assembly that mounts the cover to the box & used silicone to secure the cover to the box. It worked quite nicely and as an added bonus, it is very weather resistant. I am not an electrician and I'm not sure if this modification is "ok" but it works for me. The pics of this modification may show the gloss of the clear silicone that I used to secure the metal cover to the box. The original mounting bolt with cross bar interfered with placement of the threaded fitting and had to be removed. My local Lowe's or electrical supply store did not sell any combination of reducers that could go from 3" down to 1" so I had to figure it out & this was the idea I came up with. I still highly recommend this temporary power panel.

Great box for more than just the outlets.
I'm using this box primarily as a splice point and the outlets are just a bonus. I'm giving 4 stars primarily because information is so hard to come by on the details of this box, but also the lack of a back wall knockout isn't ideal and there is no sealing on the pre-installed fasteners despite the box itself saying you must use thread sealant. The top port is a Siemens standard RX for threaded ridged conduit and comes with the cover, but you can get the hub in any size from 1" to 2-1/2" with part numbers EC38596 to EC38600. The bottom center knockout is only up to 1-1/2" for this style box (7" wide version) and the bottom corner knockouts only go up to 1".Mine came with an ILSCO NB22 5 position grounding bar which is really strange for a Siemens company product to use a competitor's grounding bar. While this grounding bar takes up to #4 out of the box, I needed to land a larger aluminum conductor on it since I'm using the panel without bonded neutral and doing a feeder splice in there. I had a very hard time tracking down the proper grounding lug kit and got a less than helpful reply about it when I asked a question on here. The proper lug kit is the ILSCO NBST-2/0, but it is probably cheaper just to buy a whole new NB22 that already comes with this lug attached. As the part # implies, it takes up to 2/0 gauge wire, which is perfect for me.It has two more breaker slots for aux circuits, but you can't alter the face plate the receptacles are in.I mounted it with stainless screws with stainless washers with a bit of sealing putty on the washers. I put Kopr Kote on the RX threads and just regular pipe dope on the non-conducting penetration threads on the sides/top. I used a service entrance conduit body to enter the house with a very short nipple to the RX on the top for the supply and just regular 1-1/2" PVC conduit to dive into the ground for the cable I'm splicing in there (wish it was 2", actually step up to 2" in the ground).

Are these panel boxes the same size?
Anyone watching this? I have 3 of the 20-30-50 amp power panels installed, does this box match that size? It looks like it does in pictures

30/15 amp RV Site power supply
Used as a RV site power source for 30 amp and 15 amp. This is considerably larger than the one being replaced. That's not a bad thing, but it has too much wasted space. Easy access to breakers and outlets. Initial installation is pretty easy too if you have the tools!

NO CSA Stamp!! May not pass inspection!
This would be a 5 star rating if the friggin thing had a CSA stamp, but it doesn’t! My electrician had to overrule his apprentice to install this thing (the apprentice said it didn’t meet code). Then we had a hair raising inspection where the electrician had to basically beg the inspector to pass it without the stamp.Feel like if the electrician didn’t have a few favours to call upon this wouldn’t have passed inspection and I would have been on the hook for the install, disassembly and reinstall of a certified product. They shouldn’t sell this in Canada! Avoid if you need inspections or if you ever plan on selling your house or want fire insurance.
