Get a wider range of sizes
Unfortunately this set didn’t work for my application bro g a Ford Focus locking wheel nut. After removing the locking wheel collar with a drill and chisel to enable the socket to fit in the gap and grip, u fortunately the socket sizes of 17, 19 where to small and to large. It needed a 18mm socket.Whilst I could get the 17m just on the nut if I hit it home any harder I would have split the socket like others have mentioned in reviews. So, the socket range needs to be increased to ensure you have the right size that being,17,18,19,20 mmQuality of the build is good and the 17mm socket took a few hard whacks so their robust. Will come in handy for other applications but not this one!

Just the job
Just pop the relevant socket on your lock nut, give it a couple of taps with a hammer to get it sitting on there nice and tight, put on the ratchet and hop that sucker off!The drift bar and a hammer will have the lock nut out of the socket in a slap or two.Nice tidy case, good selection of sizes and a great price. The only down side is there were no instructions, but if you’re willing to search and find this product, you’ll figure out how to use it.No damage to my alloy wheels either, just be careful and you’ll be grand.

Lifesaver
Good quality especially for the cost, I had a flat tyre due to a faulty valve. luckily the car was on my drive as when I came to fit the spare I discovered that the garage who had fitted new tyres quite a long time ago had done the bolts up so ridiculously tight I though the 4 normal nuts had sheared off when I eventually loosened them using a long extendable wheel breaker bar! When it came to the locking nut it was so tight my locking key actually shattered into 2 pieces! 🤬 I ordered a set of these and kept the car jacked up to take the weight of the car off the tyre as I didn't want to ruin the tyre while waiting for delivery, amazon delivered the following day and I followed the instructions and removed the outer skin on the locking nut using a small dremmel style tool to gring through it very carefully so not to damage the bog 18" alloy wheel, removing this is very important as if I had not then I would have needed a 23mm socket which is not in the set and the outer piece even though it appears to be part of the bolt and does not spin freely it would have spun when trying to remove the extremely tight bolt, once I ground a groove all the way through the outer skin a hammered a small cold chisel into the new groove and it split the outer case of the bolt so it could be removed, this meant I only needed a 19mm socket now so I hammered the 19mm socket fro. The set (it did squash some of the edges in the teeth of the socket but there was still more than enough grip) making sure the socket was all the way on using a large lump hammer, keeping the socket straight so as not to pull it at an angle and using a variety of longer wrenches as it was so tight I though I was going to lift the car before it would release! I had already tried my electric impact driver and it would not touch it! But the socket held up to the impact driver which is good and it held upto the extreme load I placed on it to release the bolt (I'm 6ft 18st using a 24" wrench so when I say it was tight it was ridiculously tight) but the nut eventually came free and I was out of trouble so packed the wheel into the wife's car to take to the garage and get the valve changed. I could of gotten a new locking key but it was £50 for a new one and had to be ordered and its Bank Holiday weekend so dealer would not be open for a few days and then would have wait for delivery! Also no guarantee the new one would not shatter again? So would of been without a car all week for work as wife needs hers too, this set worked perfectly and if you follow the instructions you will get your bolts off, I'm not using locking nuts anymore as this has happened on a few cars I've owned over the years and I can't remember the last time Ive seen/heard of anyone having wheels stolen so locking nuts are more hassle than they are worth in my opinion. I've also ordered a new set of 20 wheel nuts as the old ones were so over-tightened the thread has probably stretched and will not clamp the wheel on as they are intended to.

Good if you know what you're doing
I bought these to remove some badly chewed locking nuts on a Mk2 Focus. It took some time and a lot of hammering to ensure they were properly seated on the nuts but all of them came off. One thing to note is if you can't get it at first try filling the shaft down to bare metal so it can bite again. Or try a larger size to get on to the lower parts of the nut where you can get a solid fixing on, for instance the 19mm fitted around the top part of the nut which worked on 2 of the nuts however I had to use the 22mm to get the lower parts of the nuts to remove the other 2. Also make sure you take the outer collar off of the nut before trying these else they won't work at all, if in doubt try using YouTube videos for advice.

Didn't work for me
Evening chaps, I gather you're here because you're up the creak like I was... I have a 2013 fiesta st with the "new style" locking nuts, every garage winces when they see these and now I know why, see pic.Sadly if you have these then this set won't help you at all, the middle piece once removing the outer cap (little piece of tin to make it look fancy) you will find a solid circle, which is what I wanted to use these on, couple of things on this. You will need a 20mm bolt extractor to fit it correctly, which I don't think exists... And lastly if you do get any purchase on it, it will sheer instantly, I think by design to deter thieves.BUT FEAR NOT! There is another listing on here which has a specially designed socket for these types of locking nuts.As for this set, it's well made and I could see it standing the test of time, just sadly wasn't right for what I needed, I hope this helps someone else I've just wasted 5 minutes writing all this. Peace.
