This cleared up a lot of space on my countertop. We had to be careful because it is a bit close to the light switch and you do not want to have a blade facing the light switch and run your hand on it. We just turned that first knife around. This was the only space available where we use our knives. If I moved it further away from the light switch then the knives are not all over top of the counter, and someone could lean against them. The only issue we had is I was installing this on a wall with a pocket door. We used slightly shorter screws than the ones provided with a similar head so it would fit correctly. I did need to use one dry wall bracket , cut a little shorter and be very careful next to the electrical socket. I have a stud finder that also tells me where electrical wiring is. After we mounted it, it was a little bit wobbly even though the screws were tightened down as much as they could be to fit into the knife holder.I do wish I could have used a French cleat, but there are only two holes and the holes are not positioned where that is possible for the size of French cleats that I could find. I wasn’t sure if that would make it not so flush as well.I used double-sided nano tape in a couple of squares on the back as a spacer since the tape is a little thick. I did not remove the plastic to attach it to the wall. It worked perfectly we tried a shim to start with, and although that would have worked the nano tape allowed for a tighter fit, since it has a little cushion. I did not take off any stars for this because sometimes when installing items you have to use a little ingenuity. This knife rack is heavy and substantial. It feels like it’s very well-made. I only had one knife that seems a little tight the farther it goes in. That was a Henkel butcher knife, because the spine of the blade is quite thick. We just do not try to force that one into the thumb guard. Although it took a little figuring for the space I had available and to make sure everything was flush.This is a beautiful knife rack. It goes perfectly with my kitchen, although I do wish it came in black as well.I definitely would recommend this product and I would purchase it again if needed or as a gift.

I like the slot for knives and the front magnet for other utensils... exactly what I wanted

First of all, it met my need for magnetic strength for both of knives and option for refrigerator mounting. It more than met my functional needs due to twice the space, and looks great with my SS appliances. I had a concern regarding mounting with adhesive strip and my email was returned very quickly along with completely addressing the concern. The $$ was more than I planned on spending, took the chance ordering and found the quality is topnotch. In our other home I mounted a magnetic knife holder, it was much less costly but the magnet was not nearly as strong. I’m very happy with this purchase!

The center section is not magnetic or very weak. I do understand this was designed to be mounted horizontally so not judging when I needed to mount this vertically and it didn’t work perfectly but definitely expected SOME magnetism in the center strip.Good magnet on face and will be mounting this as intended to maximize its effectiveness

It was a bit of a challenge to get it tight against the wall, but once we did, it was solid.

I love how this double knife strip by Novaware looks and works. I think it is both beautiful and perfectly designed. It replaced two wooden knife blocks that were taking up too much valuable counter space. Before purchasing it, I laid out all my knives along a measuring tape to see whether the knife slot in the back plus the magnetic surface on the front would accommodate them all, and determined that the 16 inch Novaware strip would fit the knives and space perfectly. Very thick blades may be a tight squeeze in the non-magnetic back slot, but all of my knives fit. The hooks provided are handy for the scissors I often use.I ordered the strip with the adhesive, hoping not to drill into my cabinet wall. The tape supplied is extremely strong (company president Isaac got right back to me when I emailed for information, and told me they use 3M PX5011). Online information for this tape doesn’t give any specific weight limits—no doubt because how much this tape will hold depends on what it’s used for and how it’s applied. I had written for information because the knife strip itself weighs 2.5 pounds, and my knives add another 5 pounds. We thought we prepared the surface of our cabinet so that it was “clean, dry and flat” as recommended, and we waited more than 24 hours before loading the strip. However, the adhesive showed signs of strain after a few days, and we decided to drill into the cabinet and install the strip with screws instead. (Fortunately, I had kept the supplied template for installation with screws.) We think that the adhesive may not have worked because our cabinet has too slick a surface or we weren’t able to press hard enough during installation because of the awkward angle of where we positioned the strip. In any case, the adhesive didn’t work for us.However, the knife strip itself is wonderful. We like how the stainless steel strip complements our stainless appliances and lights, preserves the sharpness of the blades, and makes it easy to access the knives. The magnet is strong and holds the knives securely, while at the same time releasing them easily. Plan to place all your knives handles-up, since the slot in the back is not magnetized, so all knives placed there will slide down and stop at the handle. Make sure the blades are dry and completely flat against the strip when you put them away. I used the longest blade to determine how far above the counter to place them.

Love this verses a knife block. Free up space and looks great

The wood is beautiful and it wasn't difficult to install. Magnets are very strong and having two rows for knives is a great idea. However, unlike the picture in the ad, knives that are put in the center section don't stand up straight. They lean to the side. I didn't expect that.

Holds knifes sturdy and don't fall. Only down fall is removing the knifes LoL if they slip watch out. Had some close calls, but ya learn. Either then that looks good and works great.
