Does not keep Bose soundock always on. Does work for series 2 sound dock.
I bought this to use a bose sound dock with Alexa echo. One of the reviews says this cable keeps the Bose always on so you wouldn’t have to use the Bose remote to turn it back on after the sound dock goes into sleep mode, to hear Alexa. Totally incorrect. Bose still enters sleep mode. If anyone finds a work around please let me know. Works just fine otherwise. I have heard it does not work for series 1 soundock. I have series 2 and I can confirm it works fine for what it was intended.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!
This is the third one I have purchased from various vendors. Basically let me sum up how this scam works. 1. They sell you a product that you think will do the job. 2. Of course the price is right, (in my case again under $10) so you think you are getting a deal. 3. Again the price is so low that once you realize the product doe's not work you think to yourself "I am not going to bother with sending it back for $10 because you are only out less than 10 and who wants to deal with boxing it up again and dealing with the return stuff. Anyways Yahoo has been less then forgiving on issuing my refund and the same goes for the company that makes the product. I happened to be at a mall with a BOSE store in it last night and I asked a person at the store what to do and he replied " Sir I have to deal with this 4 times a day." . He went on to explain everything I just wrote. He went on to tell me about how so many Chinese companies just manufacture things for home tech that people think they will get a deal on but its cheap enough that the consumer will not send back.

Perfect and Reliable
This is a great idea - My Bose SoundDock has been sitting in the living room for years only to be used around the holidays to play Christmas music off my old iPod. I originally bought the bluetooth adapter from another seller and the connectivity consistently failed. I found this and while I lose the freedom to play this with my device anywhere in the room, it works perfectly and allows me to enjoy my SoundDock all over again. And best of all, unlike the bluetooth adapter I purchased, I did not need to buy a separate adapter to accommodate my 1st gen SoundDock.

Design flaw but easily fixed
Does exactly what I needed it for and I can use my sound dock again. I gave it four stars only because the pins inside the apple end of the cord needed to be pushed in place to be in the middle as they were flush against one side. Could be manufacturing/design flaw. Other than that it works great.

Works like a charm!
I was finally able to use my old Sound Dock again! I tried several bluetooth plug in devices and they worked okay but too many problems encountered there so I finally found this cable. I have a Echo Dot plugged into the cable and now Alexa works off the old 30pin Bose Sound Dock in the kitchen area and works fantastic!I so didn't want to just throw the Sound Dock away as the sound is great. This was my solution. Now, Alexa plays through it and since the Dot doesn't have much of a speaker it is now a win win!

Difficult to Connect.
Worked great as a converter for my 2006 Honda Pilot old iPhone aux cord. The only problem I had was it was really difficult to get it to fit for some reason. It worked great but it was a little bit of a hassle to connect.

Plug and play goodness.
I made the mistake of updating the software on my Ipod touch and wonder of wonders, suddenly it did not work anymore with my Bose Sounddock, after working flawlessly forever. So it was try to sell the Bose at a huge loss (I paid $300 for it new) or pick up a $14 cable. I plugged it in, and was back on track. The only drawback is, it does not charge as it plays, but this is a micro-issue; I have my charging cable for that.

It works fine when it is connected
We have to stick something up against the plug to get it to connect to the bose speaker which is why I rated it low. It works fine when it is connected.
