Pleasantly surprised at good flavor.
I needed a coffee substitute. I saw this and a few other reviews. So I grabbed a bag. Needless to say I have reordered the bigger bag.I am really pleased that I tried it. The consistency is that of regular coffee. I have a Mr coffee 4 cup coffee maker. Plain and simple. Normal coffee I enjoyed 1/4 cup of coffee per 4 cup brew. Like coffee you will have to experiment to find the proper scoop for this. I have found that a lot less fig grinds is better! 1 table spoon is great for me. More than that the fig overwhelms, but…you may enjoy it stronger. My tablespoon and the same amount of creamer as before and I’m hooked. It’s a nice warm beverage that cuts with nice bitter taste at first, then you get notes of fig. I’m sounding like a wine snob 😃 but it’s the best way to describe it. I think I’m gonna try hazelnut flavor soon. I think it will pair really well. Adding sugar makes it even more yummy, but not needed at all as there is kinda a natural sweet taste (just a hint). I recommend mixing your coffee you have now with this fig and slowly ween off the coffee for about three days to avoid the three day headache from caffeine withdrawal that experienced.I 100% recommend this try this! The only down side thus far is it’s a little pricey, but now that I am using a tablespoon I think it will last just as long as or long as a regular coffee tin, or longer.I was pleasantly surprised and hope you will be too.Oh, final note. It froths really nice with a coffee blending stick!

A-fib killed my love of coffee BUT
Doc says no more caffeine. Took me 55 years to start drinking coffee and it became a morning routine. When I was informed to stay away from it or go decafe I did. But the dull taste and the chemicals used to strip caffeine away from coffee are a big turn-off.I don’t try ANYTHING at will but the need for me was greater than I would control so I saw this Coffig and figured , why not try it. This morning, it’s been here 4 days already, I made the same de-cafe K-cup and again…bitter, not enjoyable and aftertaste. I put 1/2 teaspoon into my re-fillable K-cup and hit the button for a 12 oz brew.I was so pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the first sip…. I sat down and wrote this stupid poetic review. But HONESTLY…it is excellent, tasty, smooth, not bitter no caffeine and the stuff is better for me than de-cafe coffee and it’s chemical laden soup.I am not a reviewer…but when something suits me …and this coffig does, I’ll pass it on if anyone want to know….this is a great product. Even the Splenda has not odd taste for me

Not instant but easier to brew than coffee
Update for 2/2022: I find that you can get more mileage out of your Coffig by letting it steep a long time. The longer it sits, the stronger it gets. You can also eat the grounds if you can't be bothered to sieve the drink after steeping.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++This review is for Coffig Original Beverage, the one that is 100% roasted figs.Pros:- No caffeine.- Ground figs have nice aroma. Seems odorless once brewed.- Resealable pouch.- Decent mild taste.- Not bitter like actual coffee.- The used grounds don't stink as real coffee grounds do. I like the smell of coffee. Used coffee grounds, not so much!- According to the label, Keto Friendly!Neutral:- One of the few coffee substitutes that doesn't contain grain.- Not as strong as coffee. Of course, coffee strength is a matter of preference. But if you're missing dark brew coffee, this may not be the substitute for you.- It doesn't stand up to milk and cream as well as regular coffee. If youwant to make lattes, this may not be the substitute for you. On the otherhand, you need less milk or cream than you are used to. - It is not instant. It must be brewed like this: measure Coffig powder into a jar. Add boiling water, and let it rest for the recommended time. Line a sieve with filter paper and pour the brew through.Cons:- Not instant, as I have said. If you like the convenience of instant, thisis not for you.- If you don't line the sieve with filter paper, quite a few grounds will escape into your cup.- It's pricey compared to ground coffee or instant coffee. I paidabout 35 cents per serving. Plus the cost of filter paper.Let's be real. This is not Starbucks dark roast coffee. It is, however, a pleasant drink reminiscent of mild or weak coffee. I use about 3/4 t. per serving. At $.35 per serving, it's pricey compared to home brew or instant coffee, competitive with k-pods, and very much cheaper than take-away decaffeinated coffee.Would I get it again? Yes, if it were on sale.

Delicious. And Only 1 Ingredient!
Coffig is amazing. I like to mix it with cacao powder. You have to strain it like tea, but it's a small price to pay for such great flavor. I find I'm constantly ordering this stuff.

Great product if you can tolerate the bitter taste
I chose this product because I was looking for a coffee alternative. If it weren’t so bitter I would reorder. It has a nice fig taste but the bitter flavor overpowers the fig flavor.

Good natural decaf coffee substitute
I was looking for a natural decaf substitute. Although I really liked the roasted chickory root as a substitute I found I am allergic to it.This product is good for a coffee substitute and for making Chai. I use half of the suggested use as it’s stronger than I use. Some people said the smell wasn’t pleasant. It definitely doesn’t have the coffee smell but I don’t find it unpleasant at all.I recommend people try this if they are wanting a natural decaf substitute. I will buy again.

Awful taste
This is in no way a substitute for coffee. Honestly, I tried it twice trying to make is palatable but dumped it out after one or two sips. It smells like burnt figs and that’s pretty much what it tastes like.
