Well I was initially put off buying this product because of all the negative comments about cleaning it. But what a load of rubbish. I tried mine out for the first time yesterday to make some fusili which was a great success and the whole thing was cleaned and back in its box within 10 minutes. I can only deduce that others may not be making their dough to the correct consistency. To clean the main unit, I just fed a tea towel through it a couple of times and it was fine, the other bits were easily handwashed in some warm soapy water and totally clean. This is an excellent addition to your KitchedAid collection and I'm thoroughly delighted with it. It makes great pasta easily and is fun to use.Feeding a little flour into the unit with the dough can help if it's too sticky too. But the recipe I used was 200gm semolina flour, 200gm "00" flour, 4 eggs, a tblsp water & a pinch of salt. Let the dough rest in the fride for a minimum of 1hr then you're good to go. But check the size of your eggs as you may not need the water if they are large.Hope this helps. I love this attachment and am delighted with it.
