Elanco Tapeworm Dewormer (praziquantel tablets) for Cats and Kittens 6 Weeks and Older, 3-count

Great product! It worked fast for my furbaby of 2 years. She had worms and the medicine (which I now realized was the same thing as this) was too expensive and my hours got cut at work. So, I went on Amazon and found this. I ordered it and it came in as little as 3 days. It's a small bottle with 3 little pills in it. Since my cat is an adult cat, I gave her 1 pill. The directions are provided and you feed your cat or kitten according to age and weight. I crushed the pill inside a locked ziplock bag and sprinkled it on wet food. I poured a tiny bit of water on the food and pill and waited a couple seconds to let the pill completely dissolve. Then I mixed the wet food thoroughly. She ate it without being suspicious of anything. Lol. My cat is very picky so I still can't believe she ate the food without sniffing the pill hahaha. The pill worked right away. No side effects, change in behavior or anything. She was her old self again. Now all that was left of me to do was vacuum the whole house. Lol This is the best dewormer I have ever bought, works fast and no side effects whatsoever. Sometimes people just can't afford vet visits all the time, but that doesn't mean we don't care about our pets. I love my cat and I will do anything for her. Sometimes, the same medicine that the vet prescribes is the same one that can be found in pet stores. The difference is that you're making the vet richer. That's all.P.s. This is my girl Elize. This stuff works! I have an older cat and for the last 5 years he has had a puking issue. He would puke probably 2-5 times per week. I have a great vet he goes to but they couldn't figure out why. He never presented with normal symptoms of a tape worm (I never saw anything in his poop and I never saw any of the worms around his anus or anything like that! One day I found one of the little dried up segments on the floor in my kitchen and having had cats most of my life I knew what it was. I was like "you have got to be kidding me! This poor cat has had a tape worm maybe for years??!!"I was honestly ready to give up. My vet had told me that it might be cancer and he was so old I wasn't going to pursue finding that out and treat him for that and make him go thru hell. They had recently got a stool sample from him because our new little kitten had suspected worms and they found NOTHING in his poop. I know with tape worms though, they don't shed all the time.Anyways- long story short, I got on google right away to find the best treatment for tapeworm. I found this medication and sure enough- Amazon had it and it was the best price. It came, I got it down my cat easily (I just cradled him and popped it right in the corner of his mouth and he took it right down. I also gave it to the kitten because at this point I wasn't 100% sure which one had the tape worm. This kitten- a coon- was a terror!! I had the worst time getting this in her!!! Lol) anyways- my older cat got it down and the next day he puked one more time but this time there were white shreds all through the puke! I am assuming it was the remnants of this nasty tape worm. He has NOT PUKED one single time since then!! 😁😁😁 I can't tell you how relieved I was!! This medication saved my cat. He is eating like a champ now. It's been about 2 1/2 weeks and I'm so looking forward to watching my baby gain some weight back. In the pics- my older cat is the all black cat. The rating is based off the effectiveness of these pills to deworm my cat. He had worms and now he doesn’t. I will let you know that of all the cats I’ve ever had, this guy was the wormiest and also the pickiest. It took two bottles of this expensive stuff to figure out how to even get the cat to take the pills.First of all you should know that this cat came with the house. He has lived here for 10 years and three tenants. He doesn’t live the fancy feast life, he lives the rugged outdoorsy life of a cat that has to fend off other cats for his food and who knows where that food came from before we moved in, probably wild animals and that’s where the worms come in.Attempt one: the box said that we could dissolve the pill in wet cat food and the cat wouldn’t even know he’s eating it. Nope not this cat. We dewormed a different cat that day.Attempt two: Next idea was to shove the pill down his throat. With that you have to hold his mouth shut. Easier said than done. Wiggly octopus with claws and the pill went flying the cat took off And another fail took place.Attempt three: last pill in the bottle. I went back and read all the reviews, searched google, prayed a little and tried another day. This time I soaked the pill and put it in a syringe. Darn cat spit it all out as squeezed it in an we dewormed my clothes, but at least he ingested some this time I’m going to say that wasn’t a complete fail.Attempt four: I was leery to attempt another go at deworming this cat, but the worms made themselves known again. This time I was prepared and I got help. We wrapped him in a giant blanket and armed with more knowledge of the soaked pill method I tried again. Maybe the cat was ready this time, maybe the blanket was extra snug, maybe I didn’t want to throw another $14 away, this time it was a success! He took the watered down pill like a champ and he took it just as smoothly with his two week follow up. Victory is mine!Good luck! Hope you find a method that works for deworming your cat. Watered pills and thick blankets were the keys to my success!

I gave this to my 16 week old kittens and it worked well. After I gave to to them I took them to the vet the next day to get shots. I told the vet that I gave them this and he said it was the best tapeworm medicine to give them. I asked how long it would take for the tapeworm to pass and he said that the very next day after giving them the medicine the tapworm should be gone. He told me that I should give one more dose in a month.

This stuff works well. My 2 cats don't handle the forced mouth feeding of the pill very well, so I smash it down to a powder with a hammer after putting the pill in a Ziploc bag. Admittedly, It's not the best solution. The cats notice a bitterness to the food, and may not finish it. But if you skip their previous meal and get the best Fancy Feast with lots of gravy, they'll generally eat most of it.Edit on 10-24-17: On this most recent purchase, the cat with the worms ate about a third of the food, but that was enough to kill the parasite. If you want the cat to take the full pill, a pill injector would probably be better.
