Kalimba Thumb Piano 17 Keys Musical Instruments, Mbira Finger Piano Gifts with Tune Hammer and Study Instruction for Kids and Adults Beginners

I have wanted to play the kalimba for a long time, once I saw this one I couldn’t resist it! Especially at such an affordable price. Perhaps I simply have rotten luck but I did have issues with this kalimba upon arrival. The brown paper was a pain to get off, I started at the bottom tip and it DID start peeling the holographic film off along with the brown paper. It is a bit crinkled in that corner now, but I managed to mostly flatten it back out. The holographic effect is beyond gorgeous so that is worth it!The two end tines on both sides of my kalimba are so stiff I honestly thought they’d been accidentally glued in place. I STILL cannot get them sorted out. Thankfully most songs I want to play right now don’t require those notes. A bit disappointing considering all the wonderful reviews by other customers, but the rest of the tines are excellent and sound beautiful!My only other complaint is the hair. There were many tiny black hairs stuck on, and underneath the tines. One big gust of breath got rid of most of them, I did however have to use a pair of tweezers to get the last few unstuck. (A little gross, but easily fixable.)This kalimba comes in a protective case with a booklet, cleaning cloth, thumb protectors, and a hammer. All in all, as a first kalimba as a beginner it will serve its purpose. :) Thank you.

Fun to play easy to hold and looks fantastic. With practice it sounds just right. It looks cooler in person.

Ignore the reviewer who said protective film removed the rainbow holographic effect. I had no issue, and no other reviewer mentioned issue either. My guess is they were a little too giddy and rather than remove it woth something soft like how normal people remove stickers, they maybe used a razorblade or something and scratched it off and were too embarrassed to admit that they made the mistake and instead blamed the product... which bothers me because this thing is so awesome. I have experience with more difficult to remove film on other products, if you have issue with removing this acrylic protective film (I did not) try to warm it just slightly with a hair dryer and it should make it easy to slowly peel in one piece. :)

The sound is very pretty, and already came in tune. However, some of the film is peeling off and there’s a scratch at the bottom which is super disappointing. Overall though it’s a nice little instrument.(Song in video: Married Life - Up)

This is the best thing I have ever purchased. Ridiculously pretty, high quality, and so much fun.
