quality pearl calcium
Pearls are composed of calcium carbonate which is commonly foundin rock - limestone - eggshells - snail shells - sea shells - oyster shells - and pearls. It's a good natural source of calcium and is widely used in medical supplement or as an anti-acid.Since it's known that calcium works closely with magnesium and helps direct it in the bodythere's a rule of thumb ratio of = 2 calcium to 1 magnesium which equals for example =1,000mg of calcium - should be taken with 500mg of magnesium. This 500mg from freshwater pearls is en excellent product and does inherentlycontain some trace minerals including magnesium. But it's an unmeasured amount and can't be counted on for the proper balance.RDA = (institute of medicine) for women 18-50 & men 18-70 = 1,000mg calcium daily.with the upper level limit of 2,000mg daily.1 daily = 4 monthsAlso suggested 2-3 times a dayOrganic - Non GMO - Made in U.S.A.

Not seeled!
I removed the outer plastic seal. When I twisted off the cap, the inner seal was peeled open about 1/4, but enough that capsules could have been removed and replaced with others. I do not trust using this product and returned!

The Real Deal
You may look at this supplement and think "Pearl Powder? Why would that be a supplement?" The use of pearl powder goes back centuries in Asian cultures for maintaining beauty, youthful appearance, and overall health. It can be used in many different ways. it was often used in creams years ago. Now, it's available in a capsule.Pearls have numerous minerals and antioxidents, including calcium. The issue is, it's not in a consistent or measurable amount which is why you don't see RDA numbers on the back. Not a biggie. They didn't have those numbers centuries ago when pearl powder became a thing so it doesn't concern me all that much.

Item arrived open
The foil tamper seal on the item was peeled back halfway, the plastic around the lid was also broken (if there was a tamper seal there to begin with I’m not sure.)

I wish it broke out how much calcium is in this; is more than just calcium
Pearl powder is basically ground up pearls. It’s got amino acids, vitamins and minerals, and is a good source of calcium, and there are a lot of health benefits associated with these things. However, I really wish that the nutritional label broke down how much calcium, etc. was in each capsule. Instead, it only says that there are 500mg of pearl powder. Given that certain people may need more or less of the various things this contains, it would be helpful to know how much of these things you’re getting from this powder so that you can adjust what else you consume accordingly.I have had no negative effects from taking this product, though I can’t point to anything I’ve noticed as being an improvement because of this product either, but that’s the nature of supplements.
