good entry level trainer, but not top notch
this simple device is better than hitting the wall for beginners, because they still cannot control the bouncing back yet. this device can pull the ball back regardless initial direction, so it is good for first step training to let players be able to hit the ball first. the base needs water filling, so far it is not leaking, hope it will last long, as well as the string, hope they could provide a stronger and thicker one. however, not very sturdy and duable

Not as good as I remember
I had something similar to this when I was a kid so I thought I’d get one for my son.Unfortunately it didn’t live up to our expectations and I returned it. He got very frustrated with the cord getting wrapped up around his racket and even managed to break one of the cords the first day he used it.

Don't Waste Your Money
I bought this more out of curiousity, but the tennis ball breaks off from the string immediately after a few hits. Flimsy and cheap. Spend your money elsewhere.

Works well for solo hitting practice
I just bought this for the second time because I wanted another one since the first is working so well. This is a great way to improve your hitting technique, I think, because to get good return balls you need to hit it with direction and some power. I'm a basic player and have a hard time organizing even occasional tennis outings, but this you can use on your own, you don't need a wall, etc. All you need is space (e.g. parking lot, driveway, etc.). I hit the ball pretty hard but the water base remains in place. I've only used water, but I suppose you can use sand and water. Water drips out a little bit under the cap, but, this hasn't been an issue. I recommended tying the string to the ball with a tight square knot or two. There is a swivel near the base that helps unwind the elastic.

Balls do not bounce
A couple of issues, mainly that the balls do not bounce well. This defeats the purpose of the game. Clip difficult to remove to attach ball. Otherwise, was filled with water and stayed in place.

good product
The base is actually a water bottle. Easy to use and maintain. Only complaint is the ball may get untied from the base over time. This training equipment looks easy to use but can be challenging for intermediate players, as the ball comes back to you sooner than actual game. Highly recommend to anyone who is interested in practice tennis. Very nice comes with four training balls. In case the base gets damaged and leaking water, you can always repair with hotglue and/or fill with sand.
