I used to make holes in plastic totes with a old soldering iron. This item makes it so much easier. Heats up very quickly. Has extra blades and is made of quality material. Works as it should no problems what do ever and the price is good to.

I like that this tool comes with many straight blades along with other tips, but that's the only good thing about it.There is no temp adjustment on this tool. It's temp is too hot for the attachments because the metal ends heat too much that they start to bend.The tips are screwed into the end and then a tiny screw can be used to lock it in place. The problem is, once the tip heats up, the metal expands because the tip always loosens up. This makes precision cuts nearly impossible.The tool handle and heating element are now loose and just about to break. I'm only cutting 1/4" foam pumpkins and completed only two before issues started. Got about a dozen to go and can barely even use the tool now.I ordered this several weeks before actually needing it. I tried using it for a couple hours but that loosening tip was so frustrating, I decided to return it. I waited too long and the return period had closed two days earlier.Now I have a piece of junk and will just throw it away.

This product has many negative reviews. After reading them and other similar products, I decided to give it a try. This product arrived in a very unsafe way. The blade containers were not secured. The blades were scattered in the plastic bag, some of them poking the bag. I felt the sharp tip with my finger when I pulled out the bag. See the photo attached. Be careful with yours. There is no instruction in the package. Reading the instructions from the photos on Amazon, I didn't see how to tightly mount the blade. Finally I realized the instruction "install the blade holder" is totally wrong. It meant to remove the iron tip! After removing the tip, I was able to mount the blade holder with the blade secured. I made my cut attempt after the iron heated up. The blade was too long for this application. The tip was not hot enough. I carefully broke the blade in the middle and hoped the remaining blade was long enough for my material. I was able to make a (sort of) clean cut with this tool. After I finished, I realized the blade holder was a little bit loose. Maybe it was because of the heat. Was it a perfect tool? No. But it gets the job done. I was able to cut a 90mmx45mm rectangle hole on a 2mm plastic, about 1/3 of the time I would spend with cutting knife. I had to clean up the edges after cutting with the hot blade.

Product works as described. Basic design. The holder is pretty worthless and unfinished around the edges. Be careful handling. Temperature control would be a good enhancement. The hobby blade attachment seems to come loose easily. Overall, it gets the job done.

I rarely leave reviews for products as it takes more time than I normally can spare. On top of that, I rarely read the reviews either. Wish I had in this case but not sure if it would have made a difference in purchasing. To be fair to the sellar, I have not asked for a refund as I've already thrown away the box it came in.I needed this knife for a one-time project so I purchased a cheap one. Big mistake. First, it came with no instructions but basically easy to figure out. I threaded the knife adapter into it and it was tight. As soon as it got hot, it became loose. Within five minutes the female threads on the iron had already softened up enough to strip out making it impossible to use it or thread any other tips into it. I left my project and went to the local hobby store and purchased a better-quality product.It would seem the manufacturers of these inexpensive tools use cheap allows of metal. I've even noticed this in the screws you can purchase at home improvement stores. The strip out quickly.I wouldnt waist my money with this product. And as i mentioned, this is not a hit on the sellar as I am sure he would probably make it right but for the price, not worth the trouble of returning it.
