This is my second tamper. The first one I bought claimed to be stainless steel but was actually chrome coated so was presumably some non-food grade version. This one is also made in China but is the real deal. Very nicely made and finished and comes with a little rubber mat to catch any bits. Being stainless steel its very hard and easy to clean (if you need to).For some reason it has a thin lip round the edge, towards the handle, which stops it going further into the basket: I was worried that this would stop me tamping down my ground sufficiently but, for 14-16g in my double basket, its actually about perfect. Highly recommended above the chrome ones which are a few pounds cheaper but soon pit and groove and collect dirt.The company needs to change its name though - Creepy Party - hardly appealing!

Absolutely perfect fit for the 51mm Dedica portafilter. Being stainless steel this tamper has a lovely weight to it, a lot of tampers out there are aluminium so would be quite light. The handle has a beautiful finish to it, the wood even smells nice. The bottom surface is highly polished and leaves an amazingly compact puck. Can't ask for more.

When tampering the stock pushed down and gripped the edges of basket and pulled it out of the porterfilter. Otherwise well made and the cheapest available at the time.UPDATE: it seems that after persevering it seems to fit flush with the basket and it needs a wiggle when removing, but is useable

This is really nicely made, it has a shaped wooden handle and both the wood and metal are nice and smooth. The finish doesn't give the impression you bought a cheap option.This tamper has enough weight so that I don't need to apply any pressure to tamp the coffee properly, just give it a gentle turn.It comes with a little rubber stand to keep it on which is a nice touch.

The tamper is of a great quality - nicely finished wooden handle and stainless steel weight which unscrews for cleaning. Used with our coffee makers which are slightly larger than 51mm but doesn’t seem to be an issue as you move the tamper around. Makes the coffee brew a lot better to have the coffee packed down. Would buy it again although think that’s not going to be necessary!! The little silicone mat is useful as a place to keep the tamper and protect the finish of the metal. Great little tool.

Love this, great weight makes tamping easier and it looks great next to our machine.

Arrived quickly and the tamper is a great weight and the wooden handle feels lovely and smooth in your hand...just be aware that the silicone cup is quite a lot bigger than the tamper, it just looks a bit strange on the side!
