Rethink 155005 Multi-Purpose Gutter/Fence Solar Light, 2-Pack

I installed them 2 weeks ago. Worked well that night, on nights after cloudy days, and rainy days. Easy enough to install on a gutter, but did not fit too wellon a metal 4 inch gutter- the part that screws into the gutter is not long enough to grab over the edge when the little foam pad is used to protect the paint on the gutter. I had to install them without the pad. Also, the screw to tighten the hinge which determins the angle of the light was difficult to get tight enough (oddly, on just one light- the other was fine) so it is not held firmly to shine the light out from the gutter to a place a few feet from the ground under the gutter. The light output is sufficient to see who is out there, or find the keyhole, but it is nowhere as powerful as an incandescent porch light (3 leds per unit). All in all, I am satisfied with it, and delivery was prompt.

In the summer months, when days are long and nights are short, these lights worked perfectly, despite being situated in partial shade from overhanging trees. They provided light well into the night. however, now that the days are shorter, even though the leaves are gone from most of the trees, the rechargeable batteries provide light for just a couple of hours. Now that daylight saving time has ended, the lights are out by 8 p.m. or so - not nearly as long as I had hoped for. Note, however, that this is no different from any other solar light I have tried. Even the southern U.S., where we enjoy more daylight than in northern climates, they just don't cut it.

The clip that is provided with this Gutter Light does not fit over a standard aluminum gutter. It is too small to work properly and the plastic pad to insert to avoid scratching the gutter is a joke. I had to drill holes farther down on the clip on order for the clip to work properly on my gutters. I have seen other Gutter Lights with different gutter clips that are far superior to this one. If your intention is to use this light on your gutters don't buy it, get the other ones with the better clip. As far as brightness goes, it is fair at best.

Bought 4 for my garage door. Not a lot of light but good for accenting. One shut off after a few hours and I switch it off and then on to get it working again. Maybe a bad switch. What do you expect from a cheap light?

Does not seem to be made for outdoor use - as the metal parts started rusting after a couple weeks. I live in Florida (the sunshine state) and one light lasts three hours into the night, the other about two. So if you I tend to light an area well Into the night, I would recommend a better brand<update>For being "outdoor" lights, they rusted and died fairly quickly. It has been 10 months since purchasing these, and they are officially dead. For a while, I got away with turning the switch to "off" for a day or two to allow the batteries to get a decent charge to last for a night or two, but now the switches are rusted. The screws are rusted, and the rest of the lights that aren't cheap plastic are rusted. Not impressed with anything about this product. Wish I would have paid a little more for quality.

If you're looking for a spotlight, this is not the light for you. I wanted some light on a dark walkway to my door. I did not want to get into electrical wiring. I put up four and they were OK in that you can see where you're going or if there is someone or a critter out there. I added two more and I'm very pleased with the outcome. There is enough light to feel safe but not a 'flood' light that can be uncomfortable. Fortunately, when in place they get the full day of sun to charge the batteries. They have all worked all night every night. I am thrilled with this inexpensive, no maintenance light.

We wanted to add some lights over our front and back doors. These solar lights fit the bill. They clamp on to the gutter, so you can position them where you want them. We put two over each door, which was good because the light they produce isn't very strong. Of course, how much sun each light is exposed to affects that, too. We are satisfied with the way they are working for us.

I bought these to illuminate our U S Flag overnight from above. They really aren't as bright as we would like and do not last very long.
