these seeds have a 80 percent or better germination rate when they are properly collected and preserved ...
finally! these seeds have a 80 percent or better germination rate when they are properly collected and preserved like Donaldson's does. But they will not germinate until the growing medium temperature reaches the low eighties for at least two or three days. I suspect a lot of the people who had problems and gave poor reviews simply did not learn this seed's particular germination needs or succeed in meeting them. There is a learning curve even if you consider yourself a gardener. It was a learning experience and I also learned many other propagation techniques and gardening techniques while figuring these little monsters out. These guys are much pickier than their Bhut Jolokia and Trinidad Scorpion cousins.Donadlson's seeds are robust, fully intact, perfectly formed, impressively packaged, and are properly cleaned and sanitized. I am very impressed with how good these seeds were.I suspect they were cleaned with a dilute peroxide solution or else a similar product. You don't see that from many seed sellers.I failed the first time because I did not wait until the soil temp was right. I failed a second time because I bought a cheap soil heater mat and it did not work. I also failed once due to keeping the soil too wet. I failed a further time by getting poorly collected and preserved seeds from another seller. All of these failures were discouraging but at the end of it all I learned a lot and in the end I succeeded. I have 80 percent germination on my last batch of seed. I have 5 beautiful little Carolina Reaper seedlings. These seeds are very picky. there is a learning curve. stuff that is optional for growing other seeds are not optional for these seeds.

Very low sprout rate, but plants growing well.
I followed planting guidelines perfectly, but only 1/10 seeds sprouted. The plant that did sprout is growing beautifully though. It is being grown indoors.

such a waste of time and money. I wonder if I can get my money back!
I was so excited to finally grow the Carolina reaper. After doing my research I found this company claimed to have the highest germination ratio so I spend $20 on 10 seeds in the hopes I'd have several plants out of this. After planting all of my seeds I decided I'd try the Reaper seeds in my normal grow soil and in 2 different organic starter soils.Man was I surprised when the company that had a "80% germination ratio didn't produce a single sprout! If you are considering buying from this seller I'd say either flush or burn that $20 bill right now.

Seeds look right
I'll give it 5 stars on the fact that the seeds look viable and I received 10 whole seeds. I cannot verify that they're in fact reapers until I grow them, which will be this spring.

these amazing carolina reapes began blossoming and creating peppers
after nine and 1/2 months, these amazing carolina reapes began blossoming and creating peppers. All of my seeds grew, and grew quite well. They are very easy to grow as long as you do research and use much patience I of course will never eat the pepper myself, but I give the seeds a five star rating

I would have loved to have grown these
I planted these seeds as I would plant any other seed but for some reason not a single one started to grow. I'm not really sure what happened, I usually have a green thumb. I made sure to look up any instructions on these specific seeds but I had no luck. I'm quite bummed, I would have loved to have grown these. This item was provided at a discounted price in exchange for an honest review.***UPDATE 4/1/2016***They FINALLY started to grow. I changed my 1 star rating to 4. Over the last few days I began to see growth from 7 of the 10 seeds. I'm very happy and thought that I should change the rating as well as update review!!
