Guitar Superstar
Hey, this is an awesome idea, learn to play guitar through a video game! I have an electric guitar that is just collecting dust and acting as a clothes hanger. Let's go!! Oh, I need to buy a wire adapter? Ok, those are a dime a dozen. Wait, I have to get one that's at least $40?!? The cheaper ones won't work. Ok finally got it now what? C, C, C, D, D, tune my guitar. Sadly after a week, still a long ways to go to play "Satisfaction". Keep it up, you'll get there someday, you superstar you!

Came scratched as they said but now doesn't even work
Was great worked great for about a month never left my Xbox but it would take 2 maybe 3 times of opening and closing the disc tray to get it to read the disc because there were scratches but now it won't even load which sucks it's the only game I play and was trying to get good to impress the ladies and get a girlfriend and now instead I'm going to die alone and with no guitar skills

A wonderful game for any aspiring guitarist.
It's a wonderful game and fantastic for people learning guitar or more experienced players just looking to have fun. I've poured a few hundred hours into the 2014 edition, and mainly bought this one so I could import the songs into it, but decided to try this one on its own as well.In some ways it is superior to the later game, my personal favorite feature being that it plays a recording of your playing right after you finish the song. On top of it being a satisfying ego boost where you can hear "Hey I actually played it really well!" It also helps you actually hear parts you have trouble with and need to improve on.The song list is fantastic as well, with a lot of songs that are great for beginners and a lot more difficult songs to build up to. There's also a stellar list of unlockable songs, which broadened my taste in music further and introduced me to bands I probably never would have listened to beforehand.Overall I'd heavily recommend getting this game as well as the 2014 edition as they both have fantastic song choices (not even counting dlc songs), are remarkably fun to play especially for any aspiring guitarist or bassist, and a wonderful stepping stone into the beautiful world of music as a whole. As a side note though you're going to need to buy a Real Tone Cable separately now and those aren't cheap.

Rocksmith; Smithing your skills while having fun!
I am a guitar player in an active band. Rocksmith is the closest to the real thing in real time you can get! This is a skills development simulator that learns and adapts as you go at your speed. Starting you off with one finger on one string slowly challenging you as you get more skilled you grow and develop. The Game aspect is very fun and will help keep you motivated and engaged. You actually WANT to play it because it is fun, and you earn real skills that will translate to your guitar playing!I say go for it and have fun!

Seems to me there should be better explanations. Concept looks good
I bought it for my son. He came over and we tried it. I guess it might be ok for younger people. I couldn't figure out how it works. Maybe after a while I would have. Seems to me there should be better explanations. Concept looks good. I just couldn't figure out what notes to pick I could tell when to pick them.
