This Classic New Zealand Lambskin baby care rug has been ethically sourced and custom processed for Desert Breeze Distributing. This pelt has been sourced from accredited farms in New Zealand where sheep are raised in the wide open, grassy pastures by farmers that adhere to the regulations and codes for the ethical treatment of animals set by the Animal Welfare Act. These regulations ensure that animals have sufficient food and water; adequate shelter; the opportunity to display normal patterns of behavior; appropriate physical handling; protection from and rapid diagnosis of injury and disease. Farmers must meet an animal's physical, health, and behavioral needs, and must alleviate pain or distress. Tanned according to strict quality, environmental, and safety standards in a facility that maintains the following certifications: Woolmark (providing assurance of the highest quality, representing pioneering excellence and innovation from farm to finished product), Intertek (ensures products meet quality, health, environmental, safety, and social accountability standards), Oeko-Tex Standard 100 (independently tested and guaranteed to be free of unsafe dyes, nickel, formaldehyde, and numerous harmful chemicals, even if they are not yet legally regulated), membership in Sedex (annual audits by SMETA to verify compliance with responsible supply chain activities, including labour rights, health & safety, the environment and business ethics).

Original Adhesive Label Removed
It is clear from a rectangle with adhesive residue on the back of this lambskin that the seller has removed its original manufacturing source information. Why would they do this? I can only imagine that it would say made in ... and not made in New Zealand. The packaging and tags say New Zealand Sourced Fur, but without the typical "Product of New Zealand" logos you see on goods you purchase in New Zealand. It's not as thick as the Ikea sheep skins, but the size and quality and color are very nice as advertised. I just wish the seller was not trying to hide something by removing the sticker.

Best Lamby we have ordered!
We ordered a couple of lambskins for our new grandbaby for the different households that watch her. This was by far the softest of all of the lambies we ordered. I have raised all of my four children (now adults) on lambskins. Best Money Spent. She is out in 5 minutes from hitting it and kneads her fingers like a kitten in it.

Definitely would buy again!! A Godsend!!!
Soooo soft, thick and warm. Surprisingly comfortable even in summer! Laying on it anytime of year brings such relief! Bought from same company two years ago to use for body pain from several injuries in car wrecks! Googled it first and they were right! These sheep skin rugs are a blessing to those who find themselves having to ‘rest’ throughout the day!!

Best idea for anyone and everything!
I put it fur side up in my bed, my shoulders now never have soreness from sleeping on my side. On especially cold days, I bring it out to the couch to put fur side down across my lap, keeps me warm and also attract the kitties who love to noodle it. When the kids were little I used it for places for them to lie down on, babies sleep very well on this. They always smell like lanolin, and this company does an excellent job with the hides. Get the jumbo size!
