On the exterior of your wood stove. Not out on your BBQ grill.

You do get a small amount but if you follow directions and clean well same as new stove smk

Q: Does it work well on cast iron grates?

If you mean grates that would be inside the stove, then yes. The product does take the heat. The first firing is smelly, but if the grate is inside the stove, the smell will go up the pipe. If you mean grating that is outside of the stove, or not going to be heated to stove temps, then another product may be better. If not fired, this product may rub off.

Q: Can I use this on gas-fueled kitchen range grates that hold pots above flame? Mine are scratch from metal pans.

I am not sure, I am using it on a cast iron wood burning stove. Maybe go on this company’s website and research this issue and also get a phone number for this company and call them and ask this question. Just to be on the safe side!
