2 Year Long Term ReviewIn just over two years I have bought six Tailgator Brake Lights for myself, my friends and family.I don’t typically write reviews, but this is a newer company and I want to support them. They took a long time to develop this light. They have an excellent product, very few issues (which I’ll explain), tremendous customer service – and I’m really irritated by several reviews last year that gave it 1 star for completely absurd reasons, and I want to set the record straight. And, yes, there are a slew of cheaper lights for 1/3 the cost with thousands of reviews however the quality and performance are not equal to the Tailgator brake light. With electronics you get what you pay for so ask yourself what is your life worth, or that of your family??I road ride, gravel, and mountain bike as well. I’m not an expert cyclist but an avid biker, nonetheless. My bike(s) are nor cheap nor very expensive, but I buy products, from derailleurs to helmets that work! The Tailgator light is well built light – solid, nothing cheap in its construction. Two features that stand out. The brightness of the LEDs and the brake feature which is very accurate. It won’t work if you are slowing from 10 mph to 8 mph, otherwise it would be going all the time and the battery would run out sooner. It has three 100 lumen LEDs with 5 light patterns. Three with the brake function and two without. The ones with the brake function will last 6-10 hours. The others will last 15 hours plus. I just haven’t ridden longer than that. It depends on how often the brake function is activated because when it works, all LEDs are triggered simultaneously.Any automobile or cyclist behind will see it clearly, day or night, whether they are right behind the bike or off to the side. The light is evenly spread out to the sides so the viewing angle is substantially more than other lights.I have no problems removing the mount and can do it in 5 seconds. It’s securely mounted and comes off as easy as tying your shoes. One issue that occurred to me a few weeks ago. The rubber band broke. I’ve read this in a few posts. The other 5 lights are fine so I think it is a limited issue, but the company is aware of it and wants anyone to call or email and they will send you new bands immediately. I wrote to the company. Literally, in 8 minutes, the owner tracked me down, called and sent our more bands that I received in 48 hours. Free. No ifs, ands or buts. They stand begin their product – a one year money back guarantee and get this! Lifetime guarantees on the light. It doesn’t work. Call and they’ll send you a new one. A new company understands that not only must their product be good, but the customer service must be top notch.After researching and reading many reviews on brake tail lights I decided on the Tailgator because it’s the first one of its kind to actually function as a brake light wirelessly. We all feel very safe knowing that vehicles can see me from almost any direction.That’s enough said. I’m a photographer and videographer. I know what means quality and what is second rate. I never knew the owner before his call. No, I’m not getting a free light for this review. Sometimes a company goes the extra mile. They have. If you want to feel safe. After going through multiple rear bike lights (under 30 bucks) ,I found this light which I believe is the last light I'll ever need(unless I lose it) because of their Lifetime Warranty.Braking feature works perfectly....Strong mounting Band ...Very bright and lasts much longer than the cheaper ones...yeah...its a little pricey but worth every penny !

An awesome tail light and also an awesome brake light...very bright and very responsive with the brake light feature! I ride early in the morning hours here in New Smyrna Beach, Florida and it's dark when I leave (5:30 am) and still dark when I return home (7:00 am)...the tail light and braking feature gives me great confidence when a car is approaching me from behind....I love how bight it is.....I also use it in the day time because it's seen very easily in the bright daylight on a sunny day...can't be to cautious these day with all of the distracted drivers!

I was a daily bicycle commuter in the ‘70s. In 1977 I cycle toured Europe for 4 months. Cycling was my primary source of exercise, recreation and fun in San Francisco and Sacramento in the ‘80s. Then I moved to the suburbs; the kind of suburbs where your kids cannot walk or bike to school because traffic is too dangerous. There were too many multi-lane 50 mph roads and too many incompetent or texting drivers “sharing” the road with me. I curtailed my cycling activity. Now, in need of low-impact exercise, I’m back in the saddle again. From this cyclist’s perspective the roads today are even more dangerous and scary. It’s easy to use: just choose your flash mode, attach to your bike, and ride. The Tailgator is not cheap, but considering the design, ease of use, and incredible brightness, it is an exceptional value. I’m planning to purchase one for every cyclist in my family. If you want to be as visible and safe as possible in traffic, I strongly suggest you take a look at this light. You will be glad you did.

When you look at videos on this item, it indicates that the light will turn bright red when you are stopping. It only turns bright red for me when I come to a complete dead stop. The owner of the company producing this item called me and we had a long discussion about the device. He also sent me a rather detailed email explaining the device and is sending me a replacement. It is an excellent bright light and I’m hoping I can get it to work better while stopping. Battery life is excellent, the best I have had on a bike tail light.

The break light comes on a lot without even breaking.But its bright, and works excelent since my ebike didnt come with a breaklight for some rediculous reason.

Bright tailight, braking works (just like my brakes in my car, apply the brakes and the taillight brightens) I commute to work in Houston Texas, and this light makes it safer.Cant wait to have backpack / helmet clip, so I can have two of this on me.I have used this light for two months now and it has survived several Tropical level downpours, and water didn't creep into the device that I could see.This is my new goto taillight!
