It works great. I refinish furniture as a hobby. Have been using this sprayer for a while. So far I have only used it with latex paint, Zinsser 123 primer, and polycrylic topcoat (I am too afraid to use it with oil base product because of the messy clean up afterward, so no comment on it with oil based product.) You do have to thin the paint per the instruction on the manual, but after some practices, when you get used to it, it's quite easy to thin paint. It gives nice, even coats; not much of a learning curve (but be carful not to spray too much, or the paint will drip).After using it for a while, I concluded a couple of tricks to use it: 1. thin the paint according to the manual instruction. 2. prepare a wet paper towel or rug to wipe the nozzle when you see dry paint starts to build up there. You can screw off the plastic rings and wipe the metal part (you'll know what I am talking about once you see the sprayer, it's fairy easy and quick) 3. strain the paint before putting it into the canister. This is important, because you never know what's in the paint; the paint would not come out of the nozzle if it gets stuck by chunky stuffs in the paint.Hope you find this review helpful. Love!!! We painted our kitchen cabinet doors white with this gun and have started painting our camper cabinets with it. Make sure to dilute properly and completely clean the inside of the gun properly and promptly after each use.

I had great success with thing. I bought it halfway through a project to paint my deck. My deck has tons of lattice. Brush painting lattice was driving me to drink. Now, this unit is only sort of recommended for latex paint and the paint must be heavily watered down to work but I followed the instructions and it worked well. You do have to be extremely careful (as with any sprayer) that the paint is perfectly clean when put into the cup. Those little pieces of "skin" or semi dried paint that occur on the surface of paint left open too long will clog the tip. Letting the machine sit around for more than a few minutes with paint in it will clog the tip. The tip is easy to disassemble and clean though. I would estimate the machine saved me 10-15 hours of maddening brush painting so more than worth the price.

I bought this sprayer not knowing what to expect.. I purchased another sprayer that was more expensive from a competitor. It splattered and the spray pattern was terrible and paint accumulated and ran. After reading a bit if the manual I set it up the way manual told me. While spraying water adjusted the spray pattern and voila! I thinned paint the way manual told me to and started spraying in a piece of cardboard until I got spray pattern and finish I liked. It took no time to learn how to use it. No running paint and amazing finish.The only CON is the time required to properly clean After use.. but this would be with any sprayer I finished 6 doors in less than 10 minutes and they look professional.
